Become a Regional Distribution Training Crew Production Specialist - Desert Region at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you'll focus on coordinating construction activities, providing direction to the training crew(s) on work order execution plans and strategically structuring work to optimize safety, productivity, and cost efficiency. This position will report directly to a Field Supervisor.

Responsible for coordinating work, making sound decisions, and developing and implementing strategies to execute work on time and in the most productive and cost-efficient manner possible. Makes recommendations to Field Supervisor and advises training crews to improve safety, crew productivity and cost efficiency. Combine field experience of construction methods and a detailed understanding of efficiency calculation to recommend resources required to complete each job. Thorough understanding of productivity and the impact of fatigue, premium time, and resource allocation to work unit performance. Ensure work is executable and meets customer needs; and all designs align with the design and construction prioritizing construction activities and validating constructability and that crew has all required resources such as equipment, materials, and access to jobsite; and developing execution strategy, optimal scheduling, and job coordination to completion. Assists Field Supervisor with growth and development of training crew. Ensures optimal efficiency of large projects by visiting jobsite during construction to explore opportunities for improvement with foreman while integrating lessons learned and applying the most up-to-date construction processes, (including, but not limited to, distribution design standards, Electrical Service Requirements, Construction/Maintenance Standards and GO 95 and 128 regulations.) Maintains thorough knowledge and understanding of updated processes, equipment, design and construction standards, and environmental and health regulations. Establishes and maintains high standards of excellence, communicating frequently and openly, engaging others in the solution of electrical distribution system problems and responding professionally to personnel requirements. Creating and maintaining a safety conscious work environment by leading and influencing others to follow Edison safety protocols and safe work practices.
Qualifications
The essentials
Four or more years in an electric utility performing or supervising in planning, design, construction, maintenance, standards & development, system operations, field operations, engineering, or construction project management Valid Driver's License
The preferred
Experience as a journeyman lineman, Troubleman, and/or senior patrolman Enthusiasm for being part of a training crew team and willingness to share knowledge and experience. Bachelor's degree Supervisory and/or team leadership experience Client/customer management experience, providing exceptional customer service, customer satisfaction, building relationships with customers, identifying customer needs, and responding to issues Project management, analytical and administrative skills Operational vehicle fleet experience Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, SAP, and CMS Experience with SCE's outage request process/system Experience with the application of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and the handling of labor relations and diversity issues

This position's work mode is on-site. The employee will report to an SCE facility or in the field location. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.
