Description:
The Regional Account Director will have responsibility for managing the Regional Account Management Team (RAM). This role will lead, develop, and implement the Regional Account sales strategy. In addition, this position will train, coach, and manage the development of the Regional Account Team and be instrumental in developing long term business strategy in conjunctions with the VP, Institutional Sales.
Essential Functions:
Manage the generic Institutional Regional Account Team: Lead, Coach, Train, and help team achieve goals
Work with Leadership to develop, implement and achieve annual Regional Account Sales objectives
Develop and implement a Regional Account Manager training program
Collaborate with Marketing, Sales Operations, Contracts and Supply Chain teams to develop a best-in-class customer experience
Monitor and Manager Regional Account Manager expense budgets
Additional Responsibilities:
May be assigned specific customer/market related on off projects
Education:
Bachelors Degree (BA/BS) Marketing, Life Sciences - Required
Experience:
10 years or more in Pharmaceutical/institutional sales
5 years or more in Managing primarily key IDNs and Health Systems within assigned geographic areas.
3 years or more in Managing key regional, wholesalers, specialty distributors and purchasing groups
Skills:
Exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal) - Advanced
Self-motivated with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple contacts within a corporate account relationship focused on strategic profitable growth - Advanced
Demonstrates a strategic view of the pharmaceutical market and customer base - Advanced
A strong sense of professional and personal integrity and high ethical standards - Advanced
Specialized Knowledge:
Strong knowledge of Injectable Market to include IDNs, Health systems, GPOs, specialty distributors and wholesalers
Knowledge of 340B/DSH Market
Strong background in managing, motivating and training a field-based sales team
