POSITION SUMMARY
Marathon Petroleum Company LP’s Illinois Refining Division has a full-time opening for a Routine Maintenance Electrical Planner. This is an exempt/salary position, reporting to the Maintenance Planning Supervisor. The Planner will be responsible for planning electrical work packages for the Marathon Robinson Refinery. The Planner would develop detailed work scopes, prepare cost and man-hour estimates, requisition materials & contribute to maintenance productivity by ensuring maintenance work is planned safely, efficiently, and effectively. The work schedule is Monday – Thursday, 10-hr per day. The position is eligible for relocation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Prioritize and plan work as required per refinery needs, including repairs of motors, electrical distribution, electric tracing and other refinery electrical equipment.
Develop plans for each job identifying necessary steps, materials, and resources to execute the job safely and efficiently per planning guidelines.
Perform walk downs on all jobs to ensure plan accuracy, which includes climbing stairs and ladders to reach refinery equipment at heights.
Collaborate with Area Teams, OMS’s, Engineering, Reliability and Safety to create work packages with all the information required to execute the job without barriers (drawings, procedures, permits, etc.)
Collaborate with Supply Chain (Global Procurement and Warehouse) and vendors to obtain necessary materials for scope execution.
Contact and schedule outside resources when necessary for execution of work.
Review Management of Change (MOC) requirements and ensure all Process Safety Management (PSM) elements are implemented before a job is scheduled.
Collaborate with OMS’s, Maintenance Foremen, other RM Planners, and Area Team as needed to develop weekly schedule, including verifying all materials and resources are available.
Collaborate with OMS’s, Maintenance Foremen, and Maintenance Scheduler to execute frozen schedule and meet all Operational priorities.
Maintain Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) related to work requests, order backlog, on-hold, and previously targeted work.
Maintain communication with Maintenance Foremen, Craftsmen, and OMS’s to obtain feedback for continually improving maintenance plans.
· Provide safety and environmental leadership in accordance with MPC site requirements. Drive a strong safety culture and support safety across the refinery at all levels.
Train backfills as necessary to perform planning duties during absences.
Provide assistance to Operations for operator performed maintenance (OPM).
Develop electrical switching procedures and assist with overhead and below grade electrical analyses.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum High School Diploma or G.E.D. required. ( Education must be obtained/completed prior to start date)
Minimum of 4 years of experience as an electrical craftsperson in a refinery, petrochemical, or heavy industrial setting required.
Valid driver’s license required.
Able to work off-hour duties such as plant shutdowns or routine maintenance on-call support required.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time indefinite basis without the need for employment visa sponsorship now or in the future.
SKILLS
General knowledge of refinery electrical equipment (electrical distribution, motors, electric tracing, etc.) required.
Familiarity with refinery equipment codes & standards required.
Electrical Aptitude required.
Must be proficient with Microsoft: Word, Excel, and Outlook required.
Strong organizational skills required.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
Excellent problem-solving skills required.
Use of CMMS (SAP) preferred.
Experience planning maintenance activities and creating job plans preferred.
Scheduling experience preferred.
