This position will evaluate, code, and manage records including, but not limited to, any record used by headquarters, district, and detachments such as: crash reports (from city, county, and state law enforcement agencies), incident reports, fatal reports, investigations of fatal crashes, in addition to records, as determined by the Colonel, which become an official repository item in records management. This includes database maintenance, revising, and dissemination of complete and accurate records for the Montana Highway Patrol. This position will also provide customer service to MHP troopers, other law enforcement agencies, the public, insurance, and legal representatives, etc. by collecting, storing, retrieving, and disseminating information, and making decisions regarding the appropriate release of information. The Records Management Technician will provide technical and administrative support services for the Management Services Bureau and MHP as requested. This includes layout and design of reports; preparing correspondence for division management; maintaining and updating documents and forms; managing division mail and correspondence; and related support functions.
