Job Overview
TE Connectivity’s R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams conceive original ideas for new products and turn them into reality. They are responsible for product development and qualification, from market definition through production and release; assist in the qualification of suppliers for new products to ensure suppliers deliver quality parts, materials, and services for new or improved manufacturing processes; conduct feasibility studies, testing on new and modified designs; direct and support detailed design, testing, prototype fabrication and manufacturing ramp.
The end-product typically combines various fields: materials, mechanics and systems, electrical, optics, chemistry, software, automation systems, packaging, testing and measurement, and manufacturing of electrical, mechanical and electronic components, products, and their integration into systems.
We are currently recruiting a Product Development Engineer to join our Precision Power Solutions team, which is an engineering team with electronics, mechanical and firmware engineering capabilities. The team creates products using environmental sensors such as temperature, humidity, motion, light and air quality.s The R&D/Product Development Engineer provides knowledge and expertise to design, develop and release the electronics of such a system. They are responsible for the schematic circuits, Printed Circuit Boards, PCB-assembly-layouts, simulations and testing required for the product. Tasks consist of product specifications, schematic/layout design, concept-testing, generating test-requirements, de-risking (literature study, simulation, testing) and more. The engineer will work closely with our firmware engineer to ensure the hardware gets it’s desired functionality including the firmware.
What your background should look like:
Bachelor's degree Electronics Engineering, Embedded Hardware Systems or equivalent.
Proficient, with strong experience, in hardware design
Creating hardware requirements based on firmware design
Able to analyze circuit design using Altium Designer environment or equivalent
Able to create PCB schematic and layout
Performing simulation, debugging and testing
Experienced with hardware design of products using environmental sensors
Knowledge of various interface communications (UART, SPI, I2C, ..)
Knowledge of different microcontroller platforms (Microchip, ST, TI MCUs, ..)
Advantageous would be experienced with DALI (for lighting), IoT, WiFi, Bluetooth
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (written/spoken) is a must
Any additional languages would be an advantage
