  What Your Job Will Be Like:

  The Component, Science, Engineering, and Production (CSEP) Information Systems and Operational Technology Solutions department, org 7577, is seeking a Computer Systems specialist to join our highly collaborative team responsible for providing IT, OT, and cyber assurance services to Sandia’s CSEP manufacturing and production center (org. 7500). The successful candidate will lead across multiple organizational teams to deliver innovative IT and OT solutions in a variety of domain areas. This hands-on position is a great opportunity for an individual seeking to play a key role in helping the organization evolve its product lifecycle management and smart manufacturing systems capabilities.

  On any given day, you may be called on to:

  Support the Smart Manufacturing IT/OT capabilities strategy for center 7500.

  Lead a team of System Administrators to provide IT/OT support.

  Function as lead architect for the center’s Operational Technology network, overseeing the connection of devices to the network and helping to integrate with services and data on the Sandia Corporate Networks.

  Research, design, and implement computer solutions for problems that span multiple domains such as information assurance, hardware, data management, database development, systems security, networking, and telecommunications.

  Assist in the governance and stewardship of center data.

  Collaborate with cyber professionals to deliver secure solutions.

  Develop and cultivate trust-based relationships with our corporate CIO partners and organizations internal and external to Sandia.

  Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work on-site for at least 60% of their work week.

  Qualifications We Require:

  Bachelor’s degree computer science, computer engineering, industrial engineering, systems engineering, or other relevant STEM field or combination of education and experience that are demonstrably equivalent to perform the duties of the job.

  5+ years of demonstrated experience working with complex computer systems in a fast-paced, medium to large enterprise.

  Ability to obtain and retain a DOE Q clearance.

  Qualifications We Desire:

  Master’s degree computer science, computer engineering, industrial engineering, systems engineering, or another relevant STEM field.

  Proficiency in one or more of the following areas: system/server administration, network administration, software installation, custom software development, scripting, cyber security, or operational technology.

  Hands-on experience supporting manufacturing related computer systems.

  Experience with SQL Server, Oracle, or other commonly used relational databases.

  Experience integrating multiple products or services into a single, cohesive solution.

  Critical thinking, synthesis, and problem-solving ability.

  Ability to deal with ambiguity and adapt to a fast-paced environment.

  Familiarity with or certification in IT and quality Frameworks such as ITIL or Lean Six Sigma.

  Familiarity with Sandia’s IT and Cyber Security policies.

  Experience integrating custom hardware or software into Sandia’s corporate systems.

  Experience working with Sandia’s corporate and Mission Computing Support (MCS) organizations.

  Experience working with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Manufacturing modules.

  DOE L or Q Clearance.

  About Our Team:

  The Component, Science, Engineering, and Production (CSEP), org. 7577, provides IT, OT, and cyber security assurance products and services to customers throughout Sandia’s Component, Science, Engineering, and Production center, org. 7500. The mission-centric work performed by the department is highly varied, challenging, interesting, and often visible to upper management. Department 7577's teams have deep knowledge and experience with manufacturing systems and processes, and we collaborate with colleagues across Sandia’s CIO and Cyber organizations to optimize solutions. The department’s teams consist of cyber assurance; oracle EBS manufacturing operational expertise and support; custom application development (.NET); Microsoft business intelligence and datamart services; and production tester system (PTS) application development and support.

  Posting Duration:

  This posting will be open for application submissions for a minimum of seven (7) calendar days, including the ‘posting date’. Sandia reserves the right to extend the posting date at any time.

  Security Clearance:

  Sandia is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Applicants for employment need to be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. If you hold more than one citizenship (i.e., of the U.S. and another country), your ability to obtain a security clearance may be impacted.

  Applicants offered employment with Sandia are subject to a federal background investigation to meet the requirements for access to classified information or matter if the duties of the position require a DOE security clearance. Substance abuse or illegal drug use, falsification of information, criminal activity, serious misconduct or other indicators of untrustworthiness can cause a clearance to be denied or terminated by DOE, resulting in the inability to perform the duties assigned and subsequent termination of employment.

  NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs:

  If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.

  If you have a MedPED and you are selected for an on-site interview at Sandia National Laboratories, there may be additional steps necessary to ensure compliance with NNSA security requirements prior to the interview date.

  Position Information:

  This Limited Term Employee (LTE) position is a temporary position for one year term, which may be renewed at Sandia's discretion up to a maximum of seven years.

  Individuals in LTE positions may bid on regular Sandia positions as internal candidates, and in some cases may be converted to regular career positions during their term if warranted by ongoing operational needs, continuing availability of funds, and satisfactory job performance.
