PepsiCo is currently looking for R&D Associate Principal Scientist - Seasoning to join in Leicester, UK.
Job purpose
This position is responsible for identifying and developing new flavour ingredient technologies for use across PepsiCo Foods.
In this role you will work in a program to scout & evaluate novel technologies for flavour systems that delight consumers and accelerate progress towards our PEP+ goals. This role requires a combination of an understanding of fundamental seasoning formulation development, aptitude to create new solutions to impact consumer & business challenges, and strengths in collaborating with technical & non-technical colleagues across multiple global markets.
Responsibilities
Plan and execute multiple projects focused on integrating new flavour technologies into seasoning and product formulations to meet innovation, renovation and productivity targets.Apply knowledge of seasoning design & development to define & utilize formulation best practices, ingredients, or toolkits with potential advantages to our consumers and PepsiCoPartner with other R&D colleagues to execute plans to develop a pipeline of innovation and technologies that deliver against business needs across multiple global markets.Establish and maintain strategic collaborations with external vendors based on technical capability to meet challenging targets and supply developed solutionsDemonstrate & apply an understanding of consumer product testing, sensory and analytical testing to deliver superior products to the market, engaging with relevant SMEs to ensure best practices are adoptedActively participate in internal as well as external technical forums and industry associations.
Qualifications
Background in snack seasoning formulation development, with at least 5 years relevant industry experience.Clear demonstration of practical bench capabilities and commercial launches.Experience in delivery of R&D within matrix organization, displaying drive for results, ability to collaborate with colleagues, and influence decisions through effective communicationBroad understanding of food & ingredient manufacturing technology, food product development protocols, including formulation, stability testing, product/package interaction, sensory and consumer testingBe a self-starter with ability to multitask and manage several projects, including collaborations, simultaneously.Intellectual curiosity to actively seek new solutions and integrate with standard practices.Minimum BSc in Food Science, Chemistry or related field.
