What Your Job Will Be Like:
We are seeking a R&D Electrical Engineer to join our team.
On any given day, you may be called on to:
Evaluate, develop, and debug complex test methods for microelectronics.
Design hardware for testing, for example load boards and probe cards.
Be the subject matter expert (SME) to support, lead, and/or mentor other development teams
Use tester platforms and lab instrumentation (ATE, oscilloscopes, DMMs, etc.) to verify performance of test programs.
Collaborate with design, failure analysis, burn-in, product realization teams, and system engineers as well as maintenance and safety personnel.
Partner with test operations and sustaining engineer to address any yield or testing issues on any given ASIC products and/or test equipment to maintain uptime and efficiency.
Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite.
Salary Range:
$104,100 - $207,100
*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.
Qualifications We Require:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant STEM field plus eight (8) years' experience or;
Master's degree in relevant STEM field plus four (4) years’ experience or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
Programming of Cohu’s DiamondX Automated Test Equipment (ATE) using C++ or other object-oriented language
Ability to acquire and maintain a DOE Q Clearance
Qualifications We Desire:
PhD. in a relevant STEM field
Experience with semiconductor testers such as the Cohu DiamondX, Verigy 93000, NP EXA 3000, and Teradyne Catalyst
Experience:
Proficient in test program development and debug with the Cohu’s DiamondX testers.
Lead development activities for new and legacy product conversion
Write scripts to extract large dataset to compile and analyze data using JMP or Excel.
Lead or support hardware design for probe cards and load boards, debugging, and qualify to support testing of ASICs products
Experience operating EG and TEL probers
Scripting program knowledge: Python, Perl
Experience working in Unix and Linux environments
Ability to work independently and collaborate well in a diverse team of designers, PRT leads, other stakeholders, and test engineers
About Our Team:
Sandia's Product Engineering department is responsible for science-based microelectronics, MEMS, and optoelectronics testing for both internal and external customers. We meet these responsibilities by developing and employing state-of-the-art functional and reliability tests and failure analysis techniques. We perform our work in a fast-paced, multi-project, team environment requiring extensive customer interaction.
