Responsibilities As part of the PepsiCo Global R&D Agricultural team, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operation of the laboratory to ensure efficient flow of samples, testing and reporting. You will also, along with your manager, partner with breeders, biochemists, and data scientists to develop testing plans. The R&D Agricultural Sciences team at PepsiCo delivers, at global scale and through validated agricultural science solutions, competitively advantaged varieties of key crops. Duties include but not limited to the following: * Manage the day-to-day operation of the laboratory to ensure efficient flow of samples, testing and reporting * Identify process improvements to better meet expectations and company objectives * Hire, mentor and manage undergraduate staff * Manage laboratory schedule to ensure timelines are met * Use LIMS to track samples and requests, perform data entry and release reports * Manage transfer of data, as necessary, and take steps to correct inaccurate data prior to release * Maintain laboratory cleanliness in accordance with Laboratory 5S and SOP requirements, including ensuring safe operation of the lab and regular safety inspections * Perform duties in compliance with all applicable regulatory and accrediting agencies and cGMP expectations, including but not limited to: facility and equipment maintenance, validation review and approval, training (internal, continuing education, proficiency testing, annual GMP, etc.) * Responsible for maintaining inventories of samples including those in cold storage * Responsible for ordering and monitoring inventory by establishing and maintaining par levels and re-stocking points for general laboratory supplies and reagents * Serve as a liaison for the laboratory to outside vendors * Develop an annual lab budget, maintain the budget by monitoring laboratory spending and spending forecasts, and work with the Ag Science budget manager * Work with PepsiCo manager and scientists to develop testing plans Compensation & Benefits: * The expected compensation range for this position is between $62,700 - $104,850 based on a full-time schedule. * Location, confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting actual starting salary * Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement. * In addition to salary, PepsiCo offers a comprehensive benefits package to support our employees and their families, subject to elections and eligibility: Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability, Health and Dependent Care Reimbursement Accounts, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), Insurance (Accident, Group Legal, Life), Defined Contribution Retirement Plan.
