Job Description
As a member of the Rates and Distribution team, a rate and distribution analyst is responsible for analyzing market trends and strategizing rental pricing for multiple markets across the U.S. and Canada. This individual will keep an open line of communication with field team members to best assist and consult with equipment distribution for all trucks, trailers, and towing.
Key Responsibilities:
Pricing Strategy: Develop and implement pricing strategies to maximize transactions and revenue across our truck and trailer rental services. Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and customer preferences to determine optimal pricing structures and promotional offers.
Influencing Macro Flows: Collaborate with operations team to identify opportunities for optimizing fleet utilization, load balancing, and route planning on a national scale. Develop strategies to improve overall utilization in our entire portfolio of rental assets.
Improving Micro-Distribution: Work closely with local teams in various regions to optimize local distribution networks by uncovering opportunities in their marketing plan. Identify opportunities for consolidation, route optimization, and process improvement to enhance customer satisfaction and increase transactions and gross.
Set one-way and local rates to maximize the utilization of all rental products.
Communicate with regional marketing offices to identify unproductive equipment and help develop plans to redistribute and avoid future pileups.
Evaluate, measure, and report historical data to provide upper management with essential data to make sound business decisions.
Use data to forecast trends as they relate to anticipated levels of demand for U-Haul rental products, and set rates accordingly.
Skills and Qualifications:
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and develop actionable insights. Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques, such as Excel, Power Bi, etc.
Excellent written and oral communication and collaboration skills.
Attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
In-depth understanding of logistics, transportation, and supply chain management principles.
Experience in pricing strategy, preferably in the transportation industry.
Ability to work in the Phoenix office 5 days a week with occasional travel.
College degree with a background in marketing or analytics, or other related degrees, are a plus.
Prior or current U-Haul experience is helpful.
