This position focuses on fulfilling projectswithin the Rapid Prototyping Center, including providing capacity tooperations as needed, maintaining quality control, and lab processimprovements. Essential Job Functions Work with Project Manager and studentoperators to ensure consortium member priorities are being fulfilled;maintain and update workflow system to track and document projectstatus. Maintain proficiency in operating all in-house additivemanufacturing systems in order to provide additional capacity tooperations when needed; maintain relationships with OEM and suppliertechnicians/technical support to use as a troubleshooting resource anddevelop professional technical knowledge. Collaborate with RPC employeesto review manufacturability of projects including identifying potentialchallenges/weaknesses and making recommendations as necessary to supportquality production. Identify and implement lab process improvements,including operations, post-processing, workflow documentation,environmental health and safety, and quality control. Maintain qualitycontrol process and part inspection records, and when necessary,investigate root cause, corrective, and preventative actions. Coordinatethe operations and fulfillment of process and material beta testprograms, including build programming, post processing, and facilitatingcommunication of information between stakeholders (OEMs, MSOE, andconsortium members) as needed (such as periodic reports, surveys, orconference calls).
