A Front Row Seat to InnovationPosition Purpose- Radiology Techs are a critical part of performing highquality pediatric diagnostic imaging and conscientious patient care atChildren's Hospital Colorado. We have more than one dozen vacancies rightnow at multiple locations. EDUCATION: Graduation from an accredited Radiology program is required.CERTIFICATION(S):American Registry of Radiologic Technologists: Registered RadiologicTechnologist ARRT(R) required.American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for HealthcareProvider required.Job Highlights:Produces high quality radiographic images, both fixed and portable, whileaccurately demonstrating anatomy and pathology.Facilitates patient flow daily; to include management of STAT/urgent andhigh priority patients.Provides age-appropriate care and appropriately prepares patients forprocedures.Provides clear and detailed information regarding the procedure and care topatients, families, coworkers, and others.Operates all Diagnostic imaging equipment; to include ancillary equipmentfollowing safety procedures and protocols.Utilizes principles of ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) and ensuresproper radiation safety practices.Maintains required competency in dose reduction techniques and the ImageGently Campaign.In the event of an emergency will act as first responder and provide BasicLife Support (BLS) until help arrives.Verifies patient allergies and clinical indications prior to contrastadministration. Safely administers contrast using the five rights. Ensurescontrast is appropriately ordered and documented in patients' medical record.Assists Provider with procedures as necessary (Maintaining technologistScope of Practice). Follows established procedural guidelines; documentsappropriate information as required; practices aseptic/sterile techniqueand standard precautions when necessary.Maintains flexibility around shift scheduling, location, callrequirements, over-time and weekend assignments to align with organizationalneeds.
