Summary
The Department of Radiation Oncology is looking for a Radiation Therapist to administer doses of radiation as prescribed by the radiation oncologist for the treatment of disease, utilizing ionizing radiation producing equipment. Operate in a safe and patient focused manner to provide high quality patient care. Work on a highly functional, large team at Michigan Medicine main campus with a requirement for flexibility in job duties per requirements of the team and dependent upon clinic needs. Proficiency in delivering External Beam Radiation Therapy Treatments to cancer patients, as well as experience working in a CT simulator.

Responsibilities*
Conduct and assist simulation procedures, perform patient treatment education and training for EBRT
Deliver EBRT treatments using Varian TrueBeam ranging in complexity from standard 3D treatments to SBRT
Help to maintain all equipment in safe and satisfactory working order, reporting all replacement needs to the chief therapist
Contribute to the development, modification and interpretation of the Radiation Oncology guidelines, policies, and procedures, including quality assurance activities.
Be flexible and willing to work where needed when the team requires additional assistance in simulation or treatment areas
Help to identify areas of operational inefficiency and participate in the implementation of department growth initiatives
Serve as a resource to patients and other healthcare providers at BCSC
Required Qualifications*
Graduation from high school is necessary; graduation from an accredited program in Radiation Therapy Technology is necessary.
Registration or registry-eligible in radiation therapy by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists is necessary.
At least one year of clinical experience at University of Michigan Radiation Oncology and ARIA user experience
Competent and proficient performing all procedures including: OBI, SDX, CBCT Treatment, and new starts
Above average attendance is mandatory

Work Schedule
Monday through Friday with rotating 8 hour shift between 7:00 - 5pm
Additional Information
General supervision and training is received from the Chief Therapist
Background Screening
