Quality Engineer, Quality Engineering - Commercial Platform
Quality Engineering will consist of solid technical credentials and experience with a high degree of business acumen within our Commercial Engineering organization. In this role, you will collaborate with technology peers and business partners to build and deploy the foundation for the next generation of enterprise resource planning and customer relationship management applications and services for Thomson Reuters.
As part of the Commercial Engineering organization, you will be part of a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, energetic, and high performing team at the heart of the Thomson Reuters transformation to developing modernized applications and services. This group is nimble, creative and shapes our technology roadmap. This role will be instrumental to enabling the current and future world of the digital experience at Thomson Reuters. You will be challenged with identifying innovative ideas and proof of concepts to deliver against existing and future needs of our customers. The role will report to the Director of Quality Engineering within Commercial Platform and work across the application and platform engineering teams to ensure a consistent and reliable experience for our customers.
About the Role:
Apply your experience of test automation and software engineering best practices to build automated systems for regression, performance and load testingTurn new requirements into code, including unit testing, deployment, and ongoing monitoringUnderstand and build automated tests that fit into the bigger picture of software delivery for building CI/CD pipelines, optimizing the execution of tests, and ensuring that the tests are regularly providing fast and reliable feedbackGain a deep understanding of modern DevOps development tools and practices involved with CI/CD, Continuous Testing/Security and Continuous Monitoring/Observability.Build out test data systems including synthetic test dataEngage with your quality assurance function team focusing on a strategy to improve performance and system stability across a multitude of 3rd party SaaS and PaaS technologies
About You:
BS in Computer Science or equivalent with relevant work designing and engineering in cloud native applicationsHave 1 to 3 years experience and a great understanding of both coding and software design principlesExperience working in the public clouds (AWS, Azure, GCP) along with at least one or more programming languages (Python, node.js, etc)Bring a passionate drive of quality assurance, automation, and modern toolingRemove roadblocks and solve large scale problems including working with teams across all business segmentsHave a creative ability to identify key metrics and measure results to track the DevOps transformation progressHave an understanding of developing automated test scripts using test automation tools & frameworks such as QTP/UFT, Selenium, WorksoftKnowledge of 3rd party technologies such as SAP, AEM, Salesforce, or BoomiHave a strong willingness to learn and gain experience by taking ownership of assigned work, acting with accountability and urgency
