As a team we collaborate tosolve problems, contribute ideas and challenge each other to ensure growthand ultimately success for the business and our employees.Job ResponsibilitiesAs a Quality Assurance Technician, you will verify product conformance toEVRAZ standard requirements and customer specifications using non-destructivetesting methods, gauges, and visual inspection. You will investigateroutine metallurgical problems, determine compliance with specifications andevaluate products utilizing microscope, hardness, and tensile machines.You will prepare samples using lathes grinders, cut-off machines, powersaws, drill presses, milling and turning machines, polishingequipment, and measuring tools. You will work with various measuringdevices, hand tools, materials, supplies, equipment, and necessarysafety equipment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a high regard forsafetyMeasure and visually inspect for adherence to process sheets, standardpractices and specificationsVerify, audit, identify and record product and equipmentReview process sheets for customer order requirementsOperates all equipment needed to complete the job which may includegrinders, cutting torch, gauges, mobile equipment, and roboticsAssist operators in change oversReject, determine, disposition, sort and identify productPrepare necessary reports, records and counts for traceability and inventorypurposeKeeps work area and equipment clean and orderlyPerform duties as needed in keeping mill operational, including routinemaintenance and assists Maintenance personnelAdhere to all appropriate Standard Operating ProceduresUtilize necessary safety equipment and observe all safety rules and lock outproceduresJob RequirementsPossess an understanding of the basic manufacturing process and familiaritywith heavy industry, manufacturing, or mining; or a closely related fieldCompetent in manipulating numbers, quantities, shapes and spaces; ableto take simple measurements and perform basic mathematical operations(e.g., addition, subtraction, division, decimals, fractions)Ability to accurately read precision measurement tools, experience withgauges, micrometers, NDT flaw detectors and machine shop equipmentQualified Level I non-destructive testing background or equivalent preferredQuality control experience in a manufacturing and metallurgical background;knowledge of ISO standards, preferred4 year Technical Degree preferredMust meet and maintain Inspector entry level qualifications concerningliteracy, experience, training, testing, courses and certificationAbility to safely and appropriately operate, power and hand tools,machinery, and mobile equipment; 12 months experience preferredObtain and maintain safety and equipment certifications, as requiredAbility to convey and understand information effectively and safely,including speaking over a public address systemAbility to work in both inside and outside environmental conditions, withexposure to elevated noise levels, extreme heat and cold, physical hazards- close proximity to moving parts, hot surfaces, pinch points, sparks,sharp edges, high pressure air, oxygen and gas lines (atmosphericconditions may require the use of a respirator)Must be able to work in a physically demanding manufacturing environment,which will include but not be limited to repetition, climbing, kneeling,standing, crawling, consistent exertion of forces up to 50 pounds or moreValid drivers license preferred required for certain positions within thescope of Quality AssuranceMust be willing to work varied shifts (3 shift rotation) and any days ofthe weekMust be 18 years of ageQualified Candidates will be required to demonstrate proficiency throughtestingThe above statement reflects the general details considered necessary todescribe the principal functions of the job identif ed, and shall not beconstructed as a detailed description of all of the work requirements that maybe inherent in the job.Compensation$26.46 per hourShift differentialOur total compensation package includes amazing benefits!A bonus may be paid to eligible employees based upon organizationalperformanceFamily medical, dental, and prescription coverage at minimal employee costShort and long term disability programsPension plan and (401k) with employer matchFlexible Spending and Health Savings AccountsEmployer-provided Group Life and Voluntary Life Insurance optionsPaid vacations, sick time and 10 paid holiday days per yearApprenticeship and career advancement within the companyTuition reimbursementWellness programAll applicants must be eligible to work in the USA without sponsorship.While we thank all those who apply, only those being actively considered foremployment will be contacted.Equal Opportunity EmployerEVRAZ North America is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
