　　Position Summary:

　　We have an excellent opportunity for an ambitious senior Accountant to join our team based in Paisley. This is an exciting opportunity to work in an expanding European finance team in an organisation considered a global leader in its field which offers excellent career support, development and opportunities.

　　The centre provides financial controllership in the region across various Thermo Fisher Scientific groups, including Life Sciences Solutions, Special Diagnostics and Laboratory Products. Currently we are responsible a large number of entities reporting a total of $2 Billion of revenue per year.

　　Responsibilities:

　　Monthly close activities for entity(s)Ensure the timeliness, accuracy, and completeness of monthly close activities.Review junior staff work and support with queries and issue resolution.Support with external and internal audits.Perform balance sheet account reconciliations, including general ledger accounts and sub-ledger accounts.Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls (Sarbanes-Oxley Act).Complete ad-hoc projects as requested.

　　Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

　　Strong understanding of accountancy and double entry bookkeeping (qualified or qualified by experience)Accuracy is required in performing all aspects of the roleProactivity to drive continuous improvementExcellent communication skills to interact at various levels inside and outside the organisationProficient in MS ExcelExperience in SAP (desired but not crucial)
