Actalent is hiring a full time QA Technician in South Chesterfield, Virginia. Flexible shifts available.
Description:
Performs all testing of raw materials and finished products, providing technical support to production and management within the scope of training levels.
Observes and obtains samples from running product to check for customer specifications; maintains records and logs of tests, audits, and other quality procedures to ensure availability of accurate and thorough information; collects and reports production data to management on a daily shift basis.
Review and approval of batch records, product files, quality control data, and Certificates of Analysis for the purposes of product release; reviews job orders and quality check sheets
Provide training to all production employees on quality standards and procedures; documents employee quality training records when necessary.
Provides assistance to manufacturing personnel regarding quality problems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Education requirement: High School Diploma
1 year of food safety experience
Must have food experience ideally have some manufacturing and quality experience
Want someone that understands food grade product rules and storage
Excellent verbal and written communication skills as documentation is a large part of the role
Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure, meet deadlines, present in a professional demeanor and work independently and on a team
Work Environment:
Regularly required to stand; use hands and fingers in a repetitive motion. Frequently required to stand, walk and
reach above the head.
Occasionally required to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl and talk or hear.
Required to lift a minimum of ten (10) lbs.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to focus.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals and fumes or airborne particles.
The noise level in the work environment ranges from normal office levels to loud factory / warehouse levels.
**Ability to work in temperature conditions between 35 and 95 degrees Fahrenheit; may occasionally exceed 95
degrees Fahrenheit**
