　　What you will be doing

　　Under general supervision of the Software QA Manager - the QA Engineer is responsible for implementing and supervising software and hardware testing, and for designing, implementing, executing, and debugging test processes employing a variety of tools and technologies. Interface with the Engineering, Implementation and Service teams to influence the testability of products, research and implement test methodologies, implement and refine test cases and test decks.

　　Collaborates with development and product owner teams during product design phase to assist with requirements analysis for development or modification of simple to moderately complex software applications.Designs and executes manual tests to ensure proper operation and performance of software applications.Designs, develops and implements QA test plans and test cases for new and enhanced software releases.Performs all aspects of validation and verification, including functional, structural, regression, integration, load, system and user acceptance testing.Ensures all explicit and implicit requirements are met during testing.Documents test runs and results on every test.Uses testing tools effectively to assist in project completion, including but not limited to SQL, JIRA, Confluence, qTest.Research and design test cases to reproduce customer/production issues when needed to support the service and development teams.Logs defects and issues with detailed explanation, recreates them as needed, tracks errors through to resolution and escalates issues when appropriate.Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate change and support business needs.Provide suggestions to improve the product in terms of usability.Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.Position may require up to 10% travel.

　　What your background should look like

　　Bachelor's degree, preferably in IT related area, or related work experienceNormally requires one (1) - three (3) or more years of related and progressively responsible experience.Working knowledge of cattle feedyard a plus.Familiar with Windows operating systemsProficient in common business and office software (word processing, spreadsheets, email)Basic knowledge of databases and database query language, such as SQL, recommended.Strong organizational and analytical skillsInterpersonal skills and the ability to communicate technically, both written and verbalNormally requires basic knowledge of QA project involvement, application development life cycle and methodologies.Basic knowledge of the major testing types comprising a test cycle including functional, integration, regression, system testing and error handling.Ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and ask for assistance, as necessary.
