At Source, we are looking for talented QA Leads who will work with Test Engineers, Product Owners, SRE, and Developers to release quality tested products in a 2-week sprint cycle. An ideal candidate for this role wants to take an active part in growing, developing, and implementing quality solutions to maximize testing coverage and reduce testing cycle time.

With Source , we’re changing the industry narrative, providing a more holistic approach to payment integrity that focuses on comprehensive reimbursement, agile editing, and integrated analytics. Our interoperable, cloud-based solution is modular to meet a health plan’s needs today and extensible to grow with their organization over time—bringing disparate parts of a payer’s organization together for improved accuracy and insights. The Source platform offers the ability for clients to unlock transformation at the reimbursement, payment integrity, and enterprise level. What you will do:
You are a Communicator- you use your communication and diplomacy skills to influence, convince and lead others within the sprint team
Speaks in respective sprint ceremonies
Builds relationships with development, product, and client-facing teams
Provides feedback to the QA members through test plan/test case review sessions, addresses quality issues
Responsible for keeping the team(s) updated with new and enhanced initiatives around quality and processes
Provides feedback to the scrum team(s) on process and communication improvements
Raises risks promptly and works towards a mitigation plan
Advise and assist QA Manager on status, risks, and resolutions as they relate to testing and quality assurance
Coordinates release check-in and Go/No-Go meetings
Empowers the team to raise a hand when help is needed for testing complex work or when QA runs out of time
Sets up clear ownership path for system outages and major Issues
Delegates work to the SMEs and to the Individual contributors when faced with competing priorities
Empowers the testers to speak In sprint ceremonies In a way to mitigate risks and not just state a problem
Communicates Ideas and suggestions to the leads, the SMEs and to the manager on Improving the test coverage and test quality
You are a multi-tasker- you can manage multiple priorities within sprint teams, partnered with a flexible workflow to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
Keep a close pulse on the workflow of multiple scrum teams
Ensures that the quality gates are enforced and followed by all the scrum teams
Collects and communicates real-time data on testing in a sprint
Keeps the team aligned with time tracking expectations
Stays on top of builds and test environments issues
Quickly identifies bottlenecks with code delivery, requirement delays, and test environment issues and works with the Test Manager and Director to resolve it
Evaluates ad hoc requests from Product and Dev for their feasibility and make suggestions to handle it
Monitors the quality of work produced by the QA team to ensure quality standards are met consistently
You are a cheerleader for new initiatives and process improvement- adopt BDD methodology, support agile process improvement, focus on quality measures within the TCOE, and influence engineering organizations to build a quality-driven culture. Work closely with QA Management to support & improve efficiency in release delivery by optimization techniques either Manual or Test Automation
Know the OKRs and corresponding initiatives to realize the OKRs
Rollout initiatives such as decision table, boundary value analysis, test case sin Gherkin, usage of tools such as ADO, the test review process, API testing with UI testing, etc.
Ensure test coverage includes normal flow, alternate flow, and exception flow.
Learn and train the team on concepts such as BDD, Risk-based testing, Shift-left, Fail fast
Provide structured training to the team on Medicare and Medicaid providers.
Understand the benefits of test automation and join future endeavors to introduce test automation at the sprint level
You are a planner- Define & maintain QA release capacity to plan for application release deliverables, track test environments, and test data needs for SDLC projects and programs, frequently assess risks, and escalate them promptly.
Identify testers in advance of the sprint
Encourage and enforce test preparedness in advance of the build
Ensure test plan/test case is reviewed for all complex testing by SMEs and/or PO/BA
Prepare the offshore team(s) for release day formalities such as smoke testing, etc.
Plan for the team to spend time testing the core smoke suite In every sprint
Ensure postman collections are available on shared drive for execution on release day
When certification Is delayed create a mitigation plan for offshore partners
You are an expert in Agile practices- Manage, and deliver complex testing end-to-end project & product software testing lifecycle (STLC) needs such as requirement review, technical assessment, test estimation, identification of requirement gaps, meet defined target timelines, represent QA in all Agile ceremonies in all technical and non-technical discussion
Take Udemy courses around Agile practices used at Burgess such as Scrum, SaFe, etc.
Take courses around T-shirt sizing, story pointing, etc.
Understand the Agile manifesto and propagate the principles within the agile team
Establish and drive the adoption of quality metrics that help measure test effectiveness, efficiency, and overall quality of the product
Empower team to the understand risks when taking on work during sprint planning
You are a trainer- understand the skills gap within the QA team and outline a training program to enhance the core competency of the team
Emphasize on tool training such as ADO, BDD, Gherkins and Agile methodology courses
Focus on Domain training for Medicare and Medicaid providers
Training in blackbox testing techniques
You are the Voice of Quality- Work with Scrum teams to ensure higher quality test coverage throughout the development and UAT development life cycles - encourage unit testing, the peer review process, frequent code scanning, test case reviews, and test readiness before the build delivery, use automated tools for regression and smoke testing, use decision table and boundary value techniques for comprehensive test coverage, establish quality gates at every stage of STLC, etc.
Create quality gates at each step in STLC - test readiness before the build, comprehensive test coverage as part of the testing, test documentation and logging throughout the testing, test reporting after testing, smoke testing on release candidate build, etc.
Work with the development team to implement code quality through unit testing, coding scanning, the peer review process, a clear branching strategy, etc.
Identify testing gaps and encourage RCA of production bugs in a way to enhance and correct the test coverage
Be the first line of defense to team members that need extra support and help in raising the quality bar; be a coach and mentor
Encourage the team to test in client environments where applicable
Increase the test coverage by learning the testing gaps from RCA process
What you bring:
5+ years of Agile experience
5+ years of hands-on knowledge in testing, testing techniques, and different types of testing
2+ years of Test Automation knowledge or experience
Can apply advanced subject matter knowledge to complex testing issues
2+ Agile certification
Healthcare knowledge a plus
2+ years of experience with training and mentoring the QA team
Ability to present meaningful data to articulate progress towards a goal or define a bottleneck situation
Must have experience with implementing new quality initiatives and process improvement
Management experience is a plus but not required
Bonus points:
Experience using Continuous Integration tools such as Jenkins Build Server, Git/Stash, Azure DevOps, etc.
Advanced SQL knowledge
Exposure to cloud infrastructure
