We are looking for a talented Senior Purchasing & Supply Continuity Specialist to join our team specializing in Purchasing for our Corporate/CBS Segment in Columbus, IN.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways: Executes complex buying strategies in accordance with agreed upon material buying plans, specifically focused on improving supplier overall performance and capacity ahead of demand. Conducts complex analysis of sourcing information and presents findings to purchasing and supply chain leadership for process improvement while maintaining high quality product and service delivery. Supports linkage between purchasing and manufacturing facilities and will serve as communication conduit between manufacturing and the suppliers. Prepares and presents recommendations of improvement opportunities and alternative courses of action to senior purchasing/sourcing leadership. Evaluates consistent application of sourcing procedures and processes. Supports purchasing/sourcing management in activities such as vendor management, industry and market analysis, process analysis, and model building. Leads analysis projects/initiatives providing coaching to less experienced analysts. Develop effective relationships with vendors and suppliers favorable for company business. Manages capacity, delivery and issue resolution projects. Support of engineering releases and other change management processes. Qualifications

Supplier Capacity Management - Leverages Cummins marketing forecast processes and data required from suppliers for capacity planning; negotiates capacity requirements in supplier contracts to deliver the lowest Total Cost of Ownership; links interrelationship between capacity management and product quality; assesses suppliers to ensure that they are capable of meeting Cummins total demand for both production and aftermarket. Supplier Tooling Management - Manages supplier tooling strategy by noting the impact on Total Value Performance throughout the product life cycle to accurate piece price, leverages Cummins-owned tooling procedure and ensures continuance of supply from that supplier or another by use of that specific tooling, by using proper Letters of Intent and bailment agreements; tracks and maintains inventory of which tooling Cummins has paid for and owns. Supply Base Risk Management - Minimizes supplier risk to Cummins by proactively mitigating risks through use of risk analysis tools and risk mitigation playbook to manage three key risks including continuity of supply, reputational risk, and risk to our margins of parts by minimizing disruption and services throughout supply chain; manages and leverages supplier selection and dual sourcing opportunities as a first line of defense against supplier risk. Problem Solving - Solves problems using a systematic analysis process by leveraging industry standard methodologies to create problem traceability and protect the customer; determines the assignable cause; implements robust, data-based solutions; identifies the systemic root causes and recommended actions to prevent problem reoccurrence. Project Management - Establishes and maintains the balance of scope, schedule and resources for a temporary effort (a "project"). Education, Licenses, Certifications College, university, or equivalent degree in supply chain management or a related subject required. This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations. Experience Intermediate level of related work experience required Manage supply continuity work for precision machined parts, supporting both production and aftermarket locations. Work closely with planning and sourcing counterparts on supplier performance issues as well as ensuring proper handoffs between functions to help ensure on time delivery. This role will also be working on various supplier development initiatives and continuous improvement activities top strengthen suppliers' capabilities. Compensation and Benefits
