Lead the coordination and procurement of product in an efficient and cost-effective manner in alignment with the company strategy toward achieving operational excellence. Supports sales initiatives and collaborates with the sales team to support customer accounts.Seeking those with a background in perishables.Key Responsibilities:Be a role model in projecting and applying The Pacific Group Diamond Philosophy (Productivity, Quality, Excellence and teamwork) and promote teamwork at all times.Ensures compliance of purchasing policies and develops new onesManage all aspects of inventory, over all levels, turns, shrinkMaintain and improve fill ratesForecast inventory needs as requiredManage inventory control functionsSchedule and coordinate product pick-upsResponsible for developing sales reports by buyerManage costing and pricing in all areas, PO accuracy, spreads, freight varianceProvides ongoing training for team members in AS400, sales cube, product & market knowledgeManage product rebate and shelter programsMaintain a positive image of the company in the market and communityStrategize how to maximize company advantages and strong points to the marketplaceCollaborate with other Purchasing Managers to gain/share knowledge regarding all aspects of buying.Monitor market conditions and communicate trends and changes with the sales teamAnalyze current sales, inventory positions, planned sales and promotions, and ad items to order all products.Actively searches for new vendors and productsPerform a daily walk-through in cooler/freezer/deli to ensure product quality, shelf life, product rotation and inventory accuracyCoordinate sales training on our various programsNegotiate as necessary to reach the best possible price and service guaranteeAttend daily inventory/sales meetingsResponsible for budgeted P&L variance and purchasing labor/expensesReview, analyze and recommend purchase orders as necessaryPerform other duties, as assignedWhat You Bring to Pacific Seafood:RequiredMinimum five years' related experience and/or trainingValid driver's licenseMust be able to travel up to 25% of the timeMicrosoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)PreferredEquivalent combination of education and experienceExperience in seafood and center of the plates proteinsBachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or universityAdvanced Mathematics ProficiencySalary Range: $$90,000 - $105,000 AnnuallyTotal Compensation:At Pacific Seafood, your base wage is only a portion of your overall compensation package.
