About Workman Calendars:
Since 1977, Workman Calendars has followed one guiding principle: to publish calendars like books. To bring to our calendars the same editorial integrity, focus on design and the highest production standards, necessity of subject, and energetic publicity and marketing that we bring to our books. Coincidentally the title that launched our business—and kick-started the whole idea of a viable retail calendar business—came from a book, B. Kliban’s New York Times bestselling Cat. The next innovation that truly cemented our efforts and reputation was also very booklike: the 1979 unveiling of the Page-A-Day Calendar, with smart and fresh content for every day of the year.
Now, almost 50 years and over 200 million copies sold later, Workman continues to publish bestselling calendars, push the boundaries of innovation, cultivate a thriving set of backlist titles, set the standard for quality, excellence, and value, and above all, deliver pleasure to our audience. To give our customers, every year, a calendar that speaks to their passions in the best possible way.
Workman Publishing is known for award-winning cookbooks, bestselling parenting/pregnancy guides, high quality illustrated nonfiction, plus books on gardening, country living, self-help, travel, and humor, as well as children’s books and educational series, fiction, and the most innovative calendar line in the business. Or, in the words of our guiding principles, books for all of life’s big and small moments, published with passion, joy, hard work, and a fiercely independent spirit. Eight imprints make up the Workman business: Workman, Artisan, Workman Kids, Algonquin Young Readers, Workman Calendars, Algonquin Books of Chapel Hill, Storey Publishing, and Timber Press.
