DescriptionThis is a full-time, FLSA non-exempt position with Carson City Health and Human Services, located in Carson City, NV.Under general supervision, responsible for providing public information and coordinating a public health program to selected groups within the community.
Salary Ranges:Employer-Paid PERS Retirement:$22.0303 - $33.0455 hourly / $45,822.92 - $68,734.64 annually***Employee/Employer-Paid PERS Retirement:***$26.1454 - $39.2180 hourly / $54,382.38 - $81,573.44 annuallyThis is a grant-funded position. This position will continue as long as funding supports it. Should the funding end and not be supported by other funds, the position would be eliminated and your employment with the City would end.

Examples of DutiesManages all aspects of assigned projects and develop detailed project schedule including all major milestones.Establishes and monitors project schedules; analyze business needs and prioritize resource allocation.Participates in meeting and coordinates efforts with partners.Identifies targets appropriate for service based upon audits, analysis of available statistical data and participation in stakeholder meetings.Provides direction to a diverse, cross functional project team, which may include collaboration with various partners.Prepares a variety of monthly and quarterly reports on program activities and operations; gathers statistical data as required.Devise project measurement and /or evaluation processes.Function as the interface between management team members and operational personnel with associated agencies as well as with any other related organizations.Develop and maintain productive working relationships with management, team members and agencies.Directs efforts of assigned team members and volunteers.Contributes to the overall quality of the department's service provision by developing and coordinating work teams and by reviewing, recommending and implementing improved policies and procedures.Participates in quality improvement projects.Uses standard office equipment, including a computer, in the course of the work.Demonstrates courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with public and staff; acts in a manner that promotes a harmonious and effective workplace environment.Typical QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and Experience:Two (2) years of college-level coursework in health or a closely related field; AND two (2) years of public health program experience; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience as determined by Human Resources.

The responsibility for achieving the work objectives, however, rests with a superior. Immediate supervision is not consistent, but checks are integrated into work processes and/or reviews are frequent enough to ensure compliance with instructions.

Supplemental InformationAll new employees will serve a probationary period of twelve (12) months. Such employees are not subject to the collective bargaining agreement and may be laid off or discharged during this period for any reason, or no reason.
Continued employment is contingent upon all required licenses and certificates being maintained in active status without suspension or revocation.
Any City employee may be required to stay at or return to work during emergencies to perform duties specific to this classification or to perform other duties as requested in an assigned response position. This may require working a non-traditional work schedule or working outside normal assigned duties during the incident and/or emergen
