Under the direction of the Public Health Supervisor, the Public Health Educator position is responsible for protecting, implementing, and advocating for the health and safety of Koochiching County by promoting active living, healthy eating, children's mental health, wellbeing and emergency preparedness programs through sustainable policy, systems, and environmental changes by building strong partner relationships and advancing health equity through conversations. Key Functions Manage the Grant Programs including: Statewide Health Improvement Partnership grant (SHIP), Public Health Emergency Preparedness grant (EP), Koochiching County Family Collaborative (KFC) and the Local Time Studies funding programs (LCTS). Advocate for the health and safety of Koochiching County by promoting health wellness and equity by building strong partner relationships and advancing health equity through conversations, coordination, and coalitions. Collects data and completes reports for evaluation purposes as requested or required by law to appropriate government officials or governing board. Maintains public health emergency response plans, manuals, and standard operating procedures. Responses as a member of the KCEP Response Team. Represents the Agency and serves various local, regional, and international organizational coalitions.
