Job Description Your Career
The Public Cloud Business Development Associate will pursue non-linear growth for Palo Alto Networks (PANW) through closer and smarter collaboration with AWS. This is a unique opportunity to learn how PANW, the leader in cybersecurity, partners with AWS, the largest public cloud provider, to enable customer growth.
The Business Development Associate will assist in driving our joint business with AWS. They will assist with enabling our teams on how we solve customer needs with our Better Together integrations. They will drive our sales pipeline through engagement activities and marketing events in partnership with our sales team. You will also support the execution of deals.
The Business Development Associate will be part of the team that is the central conduit for engagement between the PANW sales organization and AWS. This team collaborates with other internal departments that are key to our partnership, such as sales, marketing and product development. In addition, the Associate will have consistent interactions with ecosystem partners in support of sell-with activities with AWS.
We need an individual with a growth mindset, who is ready to learn the AWS go-to-market and value proposition, as well as how we are able to accelerate customer success together.
Your Impact
Support Palo Alto Network’s regional field sales organization on engagement management with AWSAssist with providing content for Public Cloud training curriculum and sales enablementCoordinate activities and have involvement with the Public Cloud virtual team of Business Development, Marketing, Product Management, Channels and Sales as part of cloud strategyManage joint sell-with and go-to-market activities with AWSSpeak to, and enable, PANW sales teams to work effectively with AWS sales teams to expand and accelerate deals and benefit our customersUnderstand and articulate the AWS’ strategic initiatives and leverage these to increase opportunities for AWS, PANW, and our partnersBuild and maintain relationships with key personnel in AWS and facilitate engagementAttend and participate in AWS events and seminars Facilitate and drive co-selling opportunities, account mapping and other sales engagements between PANW’s field sales and AWS sales teamsProvide an escalation point for pre-sales and post-sales issues for any activity with AWS Qualifications Your Experience
BA, BS (or equivalent work experience or equivalent military experience), MBA preferred8+ years’ experience in Sales – Account or Channel Management5+ years of CSP experience is preferredPublic Cloud experience preferredChannel experience including selling with or managing channel partners is preferredChannel Program experience is a plusIndustry knowledge of security product market trends and directional awareness of Palo Alto Network’s roadmap and technology development effortsThe role calls for knowledge of competitive security productsKnowledge of how to deliver comprehensive security solutions to PAN’s customer base, and maintains a general understanding of competitive selling strategiesFamiliarity with MS Excel or Google Sheets (analyzing spreadsheets and charts) Public Cloud experience preferred (AWS, Google Cloud/GCP, Microsoft Azure)Demonstrated ability to work both in-person and virtuallyThrives in a collaborative environment, but can also take initiativeStrong communication (written and verbal), negotiation and presentation skills Have a "Whatever it takes" attitude and motivation to do whatever necessary to assist in winning businessCan build relationships with internal and external stakeholdersAbility to understand technical concepts - have enthusiasm for technology and be able to articulate clearly to all levels of technical aptitude Ability to adapt quickly to a fast-paced environment Experience with CRM software (e.g. Salesforce) is preferredUnderstanding of sales performance metrics Additional Information The Team

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be between $142,800/yr to $231,000/yr.
