Position Overview:
Provides short term direct clinical services to Pediatric population with a wide spectrum of social, emotional, relationship and mental health issues. This may include brief individual, group and family sessions for children and adolescents; completes initial biopsychosocial assessments, refers to community providers as needed for ongoing therapy needs. Works in partnership with physicians, other health practitioners and administrative staff on care coordination and treatment planning and is the principle team resource for all mental health matters. The position also collaborates with the other psychotherapists to implement and sustain best practices in the field of behavioral health.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
CRITICAL AND ANALYTICAL THINKING:
• Provides individual, family, and / or group psychotherapy sessions to patients, children and families.
• Utilizes therapieutic interventions as appropriate to effectively support patient condition or health goals.
• Develops individualized treatment plans based on the individual needs, physician referral information and patient progress and improvement.
• Refers patients to physicians or other providers when their intervention or treatment is appropriate.
• Proactively consults with other providers when patients are seen by multiple practitioners.
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
• Uses electronic health record (Epic) for patient charting, including medical/psychosocial history and session documentation.
• Maintains all aspects of compliance and safety to ensure a healing environment of care in accordance with quality standards.
COMMUNICATION:
• Adheres to all Board of Behavioral Sciences guidelines.
• Maintains confidentiality in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability (HIPAA) regulations.
• Communicates effectively and professionally with patients, staff, other clinicians and the general public.
LEADERSHIP AND PROFESSIONAL ACCOUNTABILITY:
• Participates in continuing education to maintain licensure, and develop diagnostic and treatment skill set.
• Works in collaboration with other psychotherapists to share best practices in psychotherapeutic approaches in a medical setting.
• Completes all required continuing education credits for licensure and accreditations.
QUALITY:
• Ensures patient privacy and safety during psychotherapy sessions.
• Brings concerns about all aspects of patient care, including patient complaints to Manager in a timely fashion.
• Complies with all legal and ethical requirements.
• Provides services within the scope of license, experience, and training.
EDUCATION:
Master's: Degree in a Mental Health discipline
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:
LCSW-Licensed Clinical Social Worker
OR LMFT-Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist
OR PSY-Psychologist of California
TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
2 years of recent relevant post-licensed experience.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Ability to assess the needs of the patient, provide high quality psychotherapy and evidenced based approaches as indicated.
Knowledge of biopsychosocial assessment, care plan development and outcomes tracking methods.
Capacity to work within the collaborative medical model in line with most recent research findings regarding behavioral health in the ambulatory care setting.
Candidate must have desire and ability to work as an active member of an interdisciplinary practice team led by physicians.
Required to have knowledge of the most recent Board of Behavioral Science requirements and adhere to them.

Pay Range is $53.54 to $72.27 / hour
The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
