HOPEWELL CENTER JOB DESCRIPTION Psychiatrist Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Summary of Duties and Responsibilities- Services: Perform a wide range of Nursing duties to individuals, adults, and families in Mental and Behavioral Health environment. Advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) has higher-level responsibilities conducting comprehensive mental health assessments, diagnosing treatment, and ordering/performing/ interpreting tests. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: • Advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) is generally responsible for performing a wide range of clinical duties within the scope of practice under the guidance of a Medical Director. This position works directly with adult individuals and families in behavioral health settings. • Responsible for providing care for clients. • Consult with physicians on cases that are beyond the scope of qualification of PHMNP. • Put all relevant patient data in medical records and case presentations. • Provide consultation to the clinic’s nursing and medical staff for improvement in their work performance, which enhances overall quality service delivery of the clinic. • Ensure billable hour requirements are met. • Works with multi-disciplinary team to ensure proper diagnosis and therapeutic treatment planning. • Developing appropriate treatment plans and providing effective management of client care with proper evaluation. • Responsible for ordering, performing and interpreting tests. • Prescribing medication for acute and chronic conditions • Conducting comprehensive mental health assessments • Diagnosing and treating illnesses • Educating patients and families about self-care • Promoting healthcare and health maintenance • Other related duties as assigned. MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE • Possess Bachelor’s degree in Nursing followed by a Master’s degree in Psychiatric or Mental Health Nursing from a state approved and accredited school for professional nursing training. • Possess strong computer skills, including working with word processing and data entering applications, as well as with medical equipment, including EKG machines, suction kits, surgical lasers, vision charts, and defibrillators. • Possess and maintain graduate professional nurse, and nurse practitioner registration in MO, which must be unrestricted, current, complete, and active. • Proficient in the English Language, both in a writing and speaking to be able to communicate clearly with all stakeholders, including patients, families, clinic staff and other healthcare professionals. • Obtain Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certification from the American Nurse Credentialing Center or licensure. • Must have the ability to work effectively with people from different cultural backgrounds. Also, deliver effective quality care to individuals and families with a diverse belief, attitudes, norms, values and behaviors.
