Job Summary:Lead and manage all prototype build activities on launch programs in phase 3 of the product development process (PMP).Responsibilities:Create weekly and daily prototype build schedules for the skilled laborTrain skilled labor to build product using build sheetsAssess and allocate resource requirements for prototype builds and request additional resources if neededManages and participate in the production of prototype assembly builds and packaging of assembliesCreate and attach carton labels, may need to use customer specific software systems for part/box labels.Document and communicate all build issues to the Prototype Project Leader or Program ManagerDocument and communicate actual build (schedule attainment) and delivery attainment.Coordinate with Quality Engineer to schedule onsite quality inspection of prototype parts that go to customerCreate transportation requests for shipping departmentManage excel logs of our actual build activity over time and manage the delivery KPIs for the site.Maintain 5S in build area and work with Material Handling/Logistics team to ensure accurate inventory usageWork with other prototype build team members as neededOther general duties related to producing, shipping, and managing prototype partsQualifications:Associates Degree in Science or Bachelors Degree in Science7 years suggested minimum experience in manufacturing with some leadership experience leading or supervising production operators.Experience working with production schedulers and material planners.Previous experience working in Engineering, Supply Chain or Operations preferredExperience with Change Management.Working knowledge of MS Office, Word, Excel, QAD, MRP/ERP, TeamcenterAble to work in a rapidly changing environmentAbility to process time sensitive information and orders and meet deadlinesAbility to multi-task when necessary and prioritize tasksAbility to accurately communicate to co-workers and managementAbility to complete all necessary tasks before end of shiftAbility to lead other to ensure customer requirements are met
