Stanley Consultants, Inc. is seeking a full-time Protection & ControlsElectrical Engineer in our Denver, CO office. This position will have abackground in high voltage substation and transmission system protectionschemes for utility or generation clients. Technical responsibilities willinclude the design of any/all of the following: high voltage one line andthree-line diagrams; current and potential protection schemes, computermodeling/analysis of electrical systems; preparation of specifications forequipment and systems; report preparation; applying codes and standards,and performing and reviewing design computations.Position will be responsible for some lead design efforts, with expectationsof performing design duties with minimal supervision. Must be able todetermine client requirements and coordinate technical efforts withindiscipline areas as necessary, managing a design budget and schedule, andbe able to demonstrate proficiency in these areas.Requirements:AutoCAD Electrical experience preferredBSEE from an accredited college or university, relevant experience withelectric utility substations up to 345kVPE License requiredProficiency in protective relay coordination and settings calculations for HVand EHV transmission systems.Experience with common substations and transmission line protection schemes,such as step-distance, POTT, DCB, and DUTTExperience with electrical system analysis software such as ASPEN, ETap,SKM, PSS/E and PSLF a plusKnowledgeable of FERC and NERC requirements as they pertain to electricutility substation reliability requirements a plusFamiliarity with Microsoft Office products (MSWord, Excel, and MSProject)SCADA, RTU, programming a plusSubstation integration/automation a plusField testing and commissioning of substation equipment a plusFactory acceptance witness testing of power transformers, switch gear orcontrol panels a plusEquipment specification writingRelay settings experience a plusProficient with substation protection and control design and industrystandardsCapable of reviewing and producing design drawings, including one-linediagrams, AC/DC schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel elevationsMust have the ability to work permanently in the USSalary Range: Base Compensation: $80,000 - $100,000In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act actualcompensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education,experience, skillset, and/or location.
