JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE:
Manages a program of new capital construction and replacement transmission projects that are typically $20M and above. Accountable for development and execution of the Entergy Project Delivery Standard on all assigned projects with a matrixed team of subject matter experts including, but not limited to, construction, project controls, engineering, environmental, right of way, supply chain, distribution, finance, Governance and Oversite, and executive leaders to ensure projects are executed with cost and schedule certainty. Report and present large capital project status on a regular basis to business unit and corporate level executives.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Promotes safe behavior and adherence to the safety rules on the project. Leads the project team to establish leading indicators and proactive requirements to ensure safety is considered in all aspects of design and implementation for contractors, Entergy project team members, and the end user. Ensures contract scope of work includes safety deliverables/requirements as needed.
Defines the project organization structure required for the project and identifies the technical skills required to achieve project goals. Works with the appropriate Entergy management to assignment appropriately skilled individuals to the Project Team. Prepares and manages contracts and approves requisitions, change orders, etc. and process invoices.
Leads the project team to develop and execute the Project in accordance with the applicable corporate standards, guidelines, policies, and processes. Ensures that team members fulfill the responsibilities as required of their roles. Navigates the project through the Entergy Stage Gate process and coordinate all activities to meet the requirements of the Entergy Project Delivery Standard. Oversees the project team in the development of project deliverables (Project Execution Plan, cost estimates, schedules, risk identification and mitigation management, reports, etc.). Coordinates the activities of project stakeholders and working groups engaged in project work.
Develops and maintains the Project Execution Plan and execute the project in adherence with this plan. Establishes and maintains project documentation. Coordinates the efforts of all project participants, including consultants and contractors. Ensures previous projects' Lessons Learned and applicable industry experience is incorporated into the project execution plan. Manages the project in line with the project budget. Ensures project controls are implemented for effectively managing project scope, schedule, quality, cost, cash flow, risk, contracts, and communications in accordance with the applicable corporate standards.
Provides clear, timely and accurate project status reports for management. Prepares reports and presentations to management. Prepares and issues status reports as needed. Identifies, makes timely decisions, and takes prompt action on project issues that could impact project performance. Promptly communicates issues to the next level of leadership that are outside the authority or capability to resolve.
Coordinates with all functional departments as required to achieve the requirements of the applicable corporate standards and to achieve project budget and timeline including Finance, Legal, Plant Operations, and Supply Chain. Monitors contractor performance in project safety, schedule, cost, quality of work and compliance with contractual requirements. Turns over completed project equipment/systems to the Plant with all documentation, training, and instructions.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum education required of the position:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field or equivalent work experience.
Preferred : Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
Minimum experience required of the position:
At least 5 years of project management or construction management experience REQUIRED.
At least 5 years of experience in Distribution, Substation or Transmission operations, maintenance, or construction PREFERRED.
Preferred : Field experience.
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position:
History of safe performance, active safety involvement and participation and strong desire for a safer workplace.
Experience in new ROW acquisition procedures for new line construction.
Strong negotiation, conflict resolution, team building, interpersonal and group communication skills.
Strong Planning\Organization\Time Management skills.
Project risk identification, mitigation, and management skills.
Knowledge of Transmission line or substation design standards and construction and maintenance practices.
Written report and presentation proficiency. Strong Computer skills and proficient in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel & Outlook, Power Point).
Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position:

This position is temporarily designated as Hybrid and includes a mixture of activities that can be performed virtually and activities that are better suited to be in person in collaboration with others.
Flexibility to telecommute from an Approved Telecommuting Location a high percentage of time.
Designated Work Location will be an Entergy Office Location.
Residence must be within daily commuting distance of Designate Work Location.
