Become a Project Manager (Major Project Organization), Infrastructure Licensing & Construction at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, will lead multi-discipline teams responsible for managing major transmission and substation projects including all aspects of scope, cost, and schedule. This person will be responsible for following existing processes and establishing protocol for managing project scope, schedule and cost, in addition to changes during the project lifecycle: development, licensing, engineering and design, pre-construction planning, procurement, execution, commissioning and closeout. In addition, this position will establish roles and responsibilities for the project team, integration of cost estimation, project controls, resource coordination, scheduling, and subject matter experts from supporting organizations. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with the applicable controls and procedures in conjunction with the various supporting organizations. Provides leadership and project management of major transmission and substation projects anywhere in the SCE service territory. These projects are generally high visibility, critical to operation of the SCE grid and vital to maintaining system reliability.

Leading the development and execution of projects, including scope development, siting, licensing, permitting, project execution strategy, procurement, engineering, construction, testing, and closeout (travel required). Leading multi-functional teams from various other business units and contractors. Working closely with outside regulators and regulatory consultants in licensing and execution of projects. Managing scope, cost and project schedule. Managing the project decision process, project change control process, and project risk. Establishing and implementing project metrics and reporting. Communicating with internal and external stakeholders, as well as management. Acting as MPO key consultant to SCE management. Representing SCE at open houses, industry tradeshows and forums, conferences, regulatory proceedings, and working groups (travel required). Works in development of SCE's Project strategic plan and business case. Ensuring compliance with project gates/governance and corporate financial governance. Determining long term project management objectives for successful licensing or execution of infrastructure projects.
Qualifications
The essentials
Seven or more years of project management experience in engineering, project development and/or construction management within the power industry, with responsibility for scope, cost and schedule.
The preferred
Degree in engineering, construction or related field. Project Management degree or Certificate. Experience with permitting infrastructure projects. Experience in structuring, negotiating and managing service contracts for infrastructure projects. Experience managing projects with a value greater than $1 million dollars. Proven experience in Transmission and Distribution. Demonstrated ability in licensing and permitting, including CEQA (California Environmental Quality Act) and NEPA (National Environmental Policy Act) permitting. Technical experience with electric distribution and transmission systems. Experience with project risk analysis and management. Experience with schedule development and management, and experience using Primavera scheduling software. Proficiency with MS Office suite.
You should know
This position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.
