What will you be doing?
This position oversees multiple projects or one larger project. The Project Manager II is responsible for assembling the project team, assigning individual responsibilities, identifying appropriate resources needed, and developing the schedule to ensure timely completion of the project. The position may communicate with a Senior Project Manager, Program Manager, or Regional Manager regarding the status of specific projects.
Responsibilities:
Manages key project financial components to ensure projects are delivered within budget Accurately forecasts ETCs and end dates Trains Project Coordinators and Project Managers I on WWT's financial management processes and provide ongoing coaching Develops and manages a detailed project plan including variances, baselines, predecessors/successors, and critical path Works with stakeholders and facilitator to plan and participate in a Project Launch Workshop, providing the Plan of Record post-workshop Creates an effective Communication Plan, ensuring it is being followed, reviewed, and updated as needed Leverages WWT templates and tools to communicate project status in a timely manner Presents information in a clear, easy to consume format that's appropriate to the audience Regularly monitors risks and issues, working with owners to drive mitigation or resolution, escalating when necessary Drives identification of lessons learned throughout the project lifecycle Develops project resource plans, working with Engineering Management to staff Acts as Single-Point-of Contact (SPoC) and is accountable for optimal customer satisfaction Guides and mentors assigned Project Coordinators in completion of their tasks Quickly establishes rapport with the customer and internal team Draws useful information from kick-offs, status call, ad hoc meetings, and conversations Collaborates with Sales and Regional Management to strength customer relationships Quickly and accurately determines which tools best suit a project's needs Drives projects to successful conclusions balancing scope, time, and resources Acts as an advocate for WWT team with customer when needed Recognizes conflicts and difficult situations, escalating as needed, for assistance Acts as a role model/mentor for PCs and PMs looking to advance
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Business, IT, or related field PMP certification is highly desired Minimum one year of IT Project Management experience Experience within a professional services and/or managed services environment Able to manage multiple projects at once with varied infrastructure technologies Able to proactively drive projects to successful conclusions balancing scope, time, and resources Able to direct conversations in a different direction with internal and external stakeholders Comfortable with and effective at coaching WWT team Role model/mentor for Project Coordinators looking to advance Flexibility to work across multiple time zones as needed 0-15% Travel required
