Leidos Engineering has an opportunity for a Project Manager who will work alongside lead engineers and account managers supporting various electric utility clients . We are currently seeking a qualified candidate to provide Project Management Services related to electric utility engineering projects. Ideal candidates will be located near one of these listed areas, in order to be able to provide local support to our project teams.

The Project Manager will be part of an established Project Management Office within our Power Delivery Solutions division that provides consulting services to public-owned and investor-owned electric utilities for comprehensive engineering design of electrical transmission, substation, and distribution projects nationwide.

Primary Responsibilities

Independently lead project teams to complete engineering design of various sized electric infrastructure projects for public-owned and investor-owned electric utilities located throughout the Southeastern United States

Accept responsibility for overall project performance and reporting

Manage project costs, schedule and scope, including the development of recovery plans to stay within approved limits

Ensure contract compliance

Drive work products by coordinating and working with Engineering Leads and Managers to track and execute client deliverables

Ensure and document adherence to the quality control process

Interface directly with the client and internal management to solve issues and report progress, costs, schedule adherence and risks across a program of projects

Communicate with clients, internal project teams, multiple engineering disciplines, functional leaders, subcontractors, and support personnel

Assist with the preparation of bid documents, development of cost estimates and responses to Requests For Proposal

Complete monthly client invoicing, accruals, and accounts receivable within prescribed time frames

Identify business development opportunities

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree is required

A minimum of four (4) + years of relevant Project Management experience

Familiarity with the electric power industry and knowledge of business issues associated with power delivery services

Must have the capability to plan, organize, direct, and track technical efforts on project tasks

Must have the capability to understand, plan, monitor and report project financial performance

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task effectively

Experience with project management software (e.g., Workfront, MS Project, P6)

Experience with MS Office Software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), advanced use of Excel preferred

Periodic travel may be required; Candidates should possess a valid US driver's license

Preferred Qualifications:

PMP Certification is preferred but not required; Ideal Candidates will have a desire to obtain PMP Certification within two years

Direct experience with electric power infrastructure projects

Demonstrated success with a team approach to the consulting business

Pay Range:

Pay Range $68,900.00 - $124,550.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline onlyand not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
