Job Summary:
To monitor the daily activities for Broadband, A project manager for a fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) deployment is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of projects that install fiber optic cables directly to residences. Responsible for managing, planning, monitoring, and reporting on key projects from conception through implementation. Performs a variety of tasks. Manages project details, data collection, reporting, and communication to successfully drive project efforts. Communicates with all sides of business including Operations, Engineering, Call Center, Marketing and Business Managers. As a project manager for FTTH, you play a crucial role in bringing high-speed internet directly to homes, impacting the quality of life and connectivity for many. Balancing technical knowledge with strong project management skills is key to success in this field.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Initiation:Define Project Scope: Determine the goals, deliverables, and milestones.Budgeting: Estimate costs and manage the project budget.Scheduling: Develop detailed timelines and ensure the project stays on track.Resource Allocation: Assign tasks and manage resources, including personnel and equipment.Stakeholder Management:Communication: Regularly updates on project progress.Vendor Coordination: Work with suppliers and contractors to procure necessary materials and services.Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations.Execution and Monitoring:Team Leadership: Direct project teams, including engineers, technicians, and contractors.Quality Control: Monitor work to ensure it meets quality standards and specifications.Risk Management: Identify potential issues and develop mitigation strategies.Technical Oversight:Design Review: Oversee the design of the fiber network to ensure it meets technical requirements.Installation Supervision: Ensure proper installation techniques and standards are followed.Testing and Validation: Oversee testing of the installed fiber network to ensure it meets performance criteria.Documentation and Reporting:Progress Reports: Create regular reports on project status, including any changes to scope, schedule, or budget.As-Built Documentation: Ensure accurate records of the installed fiber network are maintained.Project Closure:Final Inspections: Conduct final inspections to ensure all work is completed to satisfaction.Permits: Make sure all permits are closed.Design/Financial:
Make sure all design is as built and POs are closed.
Required Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

office environment.Requires considerable desk work, keyboard operation, telephone and radio use. Requires ability to lift and transport computer equipment when maintenance or swap out is required. Require bending, stooping and climbing step ladder when troubleshooting computer hardware and cabling. Occasionally conditions may include periods of intense activity during power restoration efforts requiring precise judgment and communications. Irregular hours, weekend and holiday shifts may be required.
