The Opportunity
This position works out of our Pleasanton, California location in the Heart Failure Division. In Abbott’s Heart Failure (HF) business, we’re developing solutions to diagnose, monitor and manage heart failure, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.
Abbott Heart Failure designs and manufactures complex, life-saving medial devices. As a Project Manager in the Sustaining PMO, you will lead cross-functional projects that support heart failure products on the market and improve processes to make a significant impact to the organization and our patients. Types of projects include product enhancements, line extensions, implementing new systems in operations, and projects that improve product design quality, manufacturing processes, supply chain resilience or operations cost.
This role is responsible for the planning and execution of key projects that support the sustainment of current products and achievement of operational goals.
What You’ll Work On
Build smart strategies to achieve each project’s goals.
Create optimal project schedules and manage tight budgets.
Lead and motivate cross-functional team members (including manufacturing engineering, quality, R&D, regulatory, supply chain, production, and IT) to successful project completion through excellent interpersonal and influence skills.
Creatively solve project issues and proactively mitigate risks.
Communicate and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders from operators to executive leadership.
The ideal candidate will be a highly organized, hands-on problem solver and a strong, adaptable leader with a passion to drive results.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline
5+ years of managing projects in the medical device industry
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced Degree
PMP Certification
Experience with systems like ERP (SAP), PLM (Windchill) a plus
Experience in operations (i.e. Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, Supply Chain, etc.) a plus

The base pay for this position is $95,500.00 – $190,900.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
