A Project Manager is responsible for managing the daily activities of their client accounts. This is a client facing role that requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail. The primary responsibility of the Project Manager is creating and executing a robust project plan that integrates all aspects of absence management services we provide to our clients (i.e., operations, technology, and other Alight services) and delivering successful outcomes.
The Project Manager's daily activities include communicating with the client and project team, ensuring deliverables are completed in an efficient manner and within budget, escalating issues as appropriate, tracking issues to resolution, and facilitating risk mitigation.
They work closely with the Account Management, Claim Operations and Client Service Delivery teams.
Key Responsibilities
Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques to monitor the progress of the project, identify and quantify any variances, perform any required corrective actions, and communicate to all stakeholders.Ensure a common understanding by setting expectations in accordance with the Project Plan to align the stakeholders and team members.Implement the approved actions and workarounds required to mitigate project risk events to minimize the impact of the risks on the project.Improve team performance by building team cohesiveness, leading, mentoring, and motivating to facilitate cooperation, ensure project efficiency, and boost morale.Develop and maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships with others.Clearly communicate information and ideas, both verbally and writtenRecognize contributions - praise people for a job well done.Open to diverse points of view, treat people with respect.Inspire loyalty and trust, handle oneself ethically following core values and beliefs.Listen intently to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions when appropriate, and allowing others to speak without interrupting them.Build mutual trust and encourages respect and cooperation among team members.Champion best practices and adherence to project management methodology.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Experience
Knowledge, Education, Certification, Skills & Technical Proficiencies
College Degree or Equivalent Work Experience.PMP Certification or working toward certification within 12 months. Experience writing project management documents such as Project Plans, Project Charters, Risk Matrices, etc.Strong skill with Microsoft Office tools (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint) including Microsoft Teams.Excellent written and oral communications skills (client facing and senior leadership meetings).Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong organizational and time management skills.Ability to work in a team setting, manage multiple projects and coordinate multiple schedules.Proficient in project management methodologies and/or use of project management software (i.e., Smartsheet, MS Project).
Work Experience
At least 3-5 years working in a Project Manager role or equivalent experience.Experience working directly with clients and senior leadership.Absence Management knowledge and experience helpful but not required.
Work Environment
Typically, at a desk for 8 hours per day.Ability to work a flexible schedule as the main client is MST.Some travel required.

Pay Transparency Statement: Alight takes into consideration a candidate's experience, education, certification/credentials, market data, internal equity, and geography when determining an offer for a successful employment candidate, and Alight does so on an individualized, non-discriminatory basis. Therefore, an offer may fall anywhere between the estimated minimum base salary for this role of $65,600.00/year (for full time employees) and the estimated maximum base salary for this role of $104,100.00/year (for full-time employees).
