We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated Project Manager, to work alongside the current Project Management team for our government client. Supporting a multi-functional team and to manage the scheduling of project delivery, change and new business. This position is a full time, permanent role and applicants must have SC clearance or be willing to undergo the clearance process. You will be working as part of the engineering team supporting the Home Office Biometrics (HOB) Programme's Strategic Central and Bureau Platforms. Working to assist with the implementation of change to HOB's biometrics systems.
You must be self-motivated, be able to work independently and within a team to achieve day to day objectives to produce results on project deliverables, whilst also owning a variety of activities ensuring compliance with project milestones and customer KPI's and SLA's.
The Project Manager's duties and responsibilities include ensuring teams meet all scope requirements by completing jobs properly according to their contract or agreement with the client. You must be an effective communicator, comfortable directly engaging with customers and colleagues. You must also demonstrate an analytical and systematic approach to project and technical challenges.
Your Role and Responsibilities:
Plan, coordinate and manage small and medium projects.Integrate all functions and activities necessary to perform the project to meet the customer requirements.Direct project team personnel, manage cost and schedule, ensure contract compliance, and serve as customer interface.Provide strong, proactive, and assertive leadership skills that engage multidiscipline work teams to respond to business needs for assigned projects.Manage project teams that typically includes third parties/vendors.Ability to build and maintain relationships with the customer and stakeholders.Create project management plans, set expectations, and ensure the project plans are driven by organizational procedures.Coordinates with cross-functional project stakeholders to develop project scope, objectives, goals, and deliverables.Ensures that requirements are gathered, documented, reviewed, and approved per organizational/PMO standards.Ensures projects are delivered on-time, on budget, and remain in scope.Monitors and tracks project dependencies.Create a work breakdown structure that defines all activities required for the project deliverables.Establish and provide high-quality, informative written and verbal project communications, including weekly status, dashboards, and project updates.Actively monitor, track, and manage project tasks, timelines, attainment of established milestones and overall quality of project activities and deliverables.
The following skills are desirable:
Proven track record in successfully delivering projects or task work packages.Able to demonstrate experience (minimum 2 years) in Project Management.Experience in SAFe Agile and Waterfall models of delivery cycles.Good interpersonal skills and judgement for dealing with both internal and external stakeholders.Ability to engage and work within a multi-functional programme team comprising both customer, suppliers and internal staff with an awareness of engineering principles.Able to demonstrate a good understanding of business, finance and personnel management techniques and the commercial aspects of projects.The ability to communicate, negotiate and influence effectively.Enthusiastic self-starter with good written and verbal communication skills.Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Project or similar project management tool.Excellent customer facing skills.Proven analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities.Technical background or understanding of System Engineering, Software development or Software testing.

Prince2 or APM PMQLeadership and Management
Clearance: Candidate must a UK National and be eligible to obtain SC clearance.
