THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Project Manager 1 in this capacity, you will strive to support IT initiatives for the Department of Human Services (DHS), Department of Health (DOH), Department of Aging (PDA), and Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs (DDAP). These agencies are focused on the overall organizational mission to promote healthy lifestyles, prevent injury and disease, and assure the safe delivery of quality health care for all Commonwealth citizens through the planning, development, and implementation of multiple, complex enterprise-wide IT projects.
This work involves managing projects which require collaboration between local, state, and federal agencies and systems, public health professionals and private sector information systems designers, developers, vendors, and contractors, including but not limited to Commonwealth agencies and federal agencies. The professional in this position must exercise extensive discretion, sound independent judgment, and is subject to a high level of accountability.
We are looking for someone who possesses a significant degree of specialized training and knowledge of the following areas: Project Management Institute (PMI), Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK), and Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). We are also seeking candidates with p roven success as a Microsoft SharePoint designer and developer.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment
Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, and report to the office every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. You will be expected to telework for the reminder of your work schedule, but this could change and you may be required to come into the office more frequently. The office is headquartered at 2525 North 7th Street, Harrisburg. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
Although this is a telework position, you will be required to come to the Harrisburg office to pick up your equipment. Your supervisor will give you at least a 24-hour notice and all travel will be at your own expense. Parking is located at the building and is free. Other reasons for coming into the office include:
Changes to the current telework that would require staff to come into the office.
Attend trainings, mandatory meetings, or on an ad hoc basis.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Two years of experience as a Business Analyst 3; or
Two years of experience in leading IT systems development or implementation projects and a bachelor’s degree; or
An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes two years of experience in leading IT systems development or implementation projects.
Additional Requirements:
You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
