  The Work

  As the Project Engineer Staff for AEGIS New Construction projects on Lockheed Martin Ship Integration Test contracts, you will be part of the Ship Integration and Test (SI&T) team supporting AEGIS engineering operations and will be responsible for:

  • Leading AEGIS Combat Systems technical and programmatic tasking from NAVSEA, PEO IWS, and MDA representatives. Coordinating customer interactions at program and technical reviews and participate in the Technical Data Package (TDP) development and review process for DDG 51 new construction shipbuilding program.

  • Coordinating and resolving technical and programmatic issues with PEO IWS 1.0 and PEO SHIPS. Work closely with AEGIS Combat Systems PARMs, including PEO IWS, PEO C4I, NAVAIR, NAVSEA field activities (Dahlgren, Port Hueneme, Philadelphia), shipyard design agents and industry partners to resolve ship integration issues through new construction design, integration, installation, and shipboard test.

  • Coordinating efforts between above PARM stakeholders and LM SI&T functional groups in Moorestown/Mt Laurel, NJ (physical, structural, electrical, etc.) for detailed design and integration of combat systems elements into the AEGIS Weapons Systems (AWS) and AEGIS Combat System (ACS) on new construction DDG 51 class surface combatants.

  • Occasional travel to Lockheed Martin SI&T locations in Moorestown/Mount Laurel, NJ, and to shipbuilder industrial facilities and USN Fleet concentration areas.

  Position is based in in Washington, DC, in direct support of US Navy customer at Washington Navy Yard with occasional travel to Moorestown/Mount Laurel, NJ.

  Basic Qualifications:

  • Ability to lead technical and programmatic reviews and design engineering and integration tasking from NAVSEA and PEO IWS customer representatives

  • Familiar with system design criteria, shipboard physical and electrical equipment interactions, major signal flows and interface requirements, and USN Shipbuilding Specifications

  • Strong initiative characteristics and exceptional teaming skills

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance (requires U.S. citizenship)

  Desired Skills:

  • 6-10 years' experience in design, integration, and/or installation engineering with knowledge of CG 47, DDG 51, and/or FMS Aegis or other USN surface ship combat systems equipment

  • Familiarity with AEGIS Combat System and DDG 51 class new construction ship Technical Data Package development processes, including engineering design and integration interface across combat systems PARMs and with NAVSEA and shipbuilding representatives.

  • Former fleet service onboard USN AEGIS ships

  Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

  Clearance Level: Secret

  Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

  Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

  Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
