  Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is currently looking for a Global Support Center (GSC) Project Engineer based out of Beijing or Shanghai.

  The selected candidate for this positionwill be working under the general direction of the BCA - Global Support Center (GSC) manager.

  The candidate will be providing the Engineering leadership to a team representing multiple skill areas, which may include internal and external resources and customers (stakeholders) and will coordinates directly with the CAAC to identify among other topics, issues and concerns specifically focused on Avionics and New Technology research projects. He/ She may also be required to facilitate discussions in multiple languages (English and Mandarin). The candidate will also develop a statement of work (SOW) to satisfy research and development, ongoing and new business requirements. Identifies and manages changes to SOW and assesses the impact of those changes, and incorporates changes into statement of work.

  He or She will be supporting proposal development and leads project execution by identifying activities, resources and events required to complete the work statement. Identifies performance metrics. Plans, identifies and coordinates resources required over the life of the project or program. Identifies and defines plans for risk mitigation and opportunity. Compares actual results to baseline plan to assess project performance, efficiencies, productivity and lessons learned. Implements corrective actions to improve performance. Provides technical, business and integration leadership for the development and execution of the project or team plan.

  Position Responsibilities:

  1. Support and influence the future working relationship between Boeing and the CAAC or other institutions and stakeholders who are building new technologies, by supporting a number of initiatives related to global aircraft tracking, flight tracking system of the CAAC, automatic dependent surveillance - broadcast (ADS-B), heads up display (HUD), electronic flight bag (EFB), GNSS landing system (GLS), performance based navigation (PNB), required navigation performance (RNP), and implementation status.

  2. Lead/support Boeing/CAAC cooperative projects in working with many of the CAAC functional departments to obtain win-win cooperation result; identify areas of mutual interest to satisfy research and development in order to foster future interactions and strengthen the company position through cooperative projects; support China Initiative strategy to build closer ties with Chinese stakeholders to introduce and influence implementation of new Boeing products and aviation technologies into China.

  3. Build and maintain close relationships with all stakeholders and institutions; serve as Boeing liaison focal; communicate related activities to Boeing China leadership,

  4. Provide presentations or instruction within field of expertise to customers and/or CAAC to provide technical understanding or training. Negotiates proposed changes to determine modifications to the deliverables, resources, costs and schedules. Leads project execution to complete the work statement. Identifies performance metrics. Plans, identifies and coordinates resources required over the life of the project or program.

  5. Assist, Leads and oversees multiple complex, large-scale projects simultaneously with minimal guidance. Assigns responsibility for activities to team members and ensures technical correctness and consistency of products and services. Directs proposal development to complete the work statement. Compares actual results to baseline plan to assess project performance, efficiencies, productivity and lessons learned. Identifies corrective actions to improve project or team performance. Provides technical, business and integration leadership for the development and execution of project or team plans. Works under consultative direction.

  6. Recommends and implements strategies, strategic alliances, and partnerships to achieve business objectives.

  7. Works across multiple business units (marketing & sales, customer support, strategy, engineering, product development, training departments, supply chain, Boeing Global Services, Boeing International, Boeing Engineering, Test & Technology) to capture opportunities, understand project requirements, gain commitments, optimize contributions, and achieve business objectives.

  8. Help Create, maintains, and advances stakeholder relationships to build trust and strong partnerships.

  9. Able to Develop and manages communication tools, metrics, and reports, including executive business strategy and initiative presentations, to support enhanced visibility and stakeholder awareness.

  Additional Information:

  Be willing to work variable hours as needed to interact with customers and colleagues in other regions and time zones.Travel Requirement: Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% of the time, internationally, if required.

  Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  Bachelor's Degree of Engineering and 10 or more years' experience, Master's with 9 or more years' experience.Candidate must be fluent in both English and Mandarin (read, write, listen/speak)Knowledge or experience in airlines/aviation industryExperience working across different business unites and disciplines to drive collaboration and results

  Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  Research and development background within a reputable Chinese ResearchExperience building enduring and effective relationships with C-suite, executives, senior management, and team leaders to achieve business goals (both internal and external to an organization)Experience working with aviation-related government policies and/or regulatory agenciesKnowledge of Project Management Concepts and Principles and Project Management Processional (PMP) certificate - CAPM (Certified Associate of Project Management) or PMP Certification is a plusExperience coaching and mentoring teams is a plus

  Relocation:

  This position offers one-time domestic relocation based on candidate eligibility.
