Project Engineer - Controls - Yorkville or Burr Ridge, IL Cleveland, TN, Hackettstown, NJ, Topeka, KS
This Regional Project Engineering Role will be a part of the Mars Wrigley North America Regional Controls, IT, and Digital Engineering Team. The individual in this role will be responsible for all aspects of planning and executing projects from project creation to project closure. The scope of the role could include leading and/or supporting projects in the areas of electrical, controls, Factory IT, and Digital Plant Technology systems depending on business needs. The role owns the overall leadership of controls & IT projects via the Mars Wrigley Engineering Execution Standard. This role will can be based out of one of the following sites (Yorkville, IL, Topeka, KS, Cleveland, TN, Hackettstown, NJ, Burr Ridge, IL) and may require significant travel (20 - 50%) to most of our major sites across North America.

Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Chemical, or relevant engineering degree.2 to 3 years experience in a comparable technical position (Project Engineer related) - food, beverage, pharmaceutical or related industry preferableBasic understanding of engineering principals - knowledge of engineering disciplines: Process, Packaging, Electrical, Controls, Automation, Construction and/or Computer Services
Preferred Requirements
A Bachelor's degree in Controls/Electrical/Electronics is preferred or relevant engineering leadership/management degree.3 to 5 years of experience in a comparable technical position (Project Engineer related) - food, beverage, pharmaceutical or related industry preferableIn-depth understanding of designated functional engineering area of expertise (for specific job requirement i.e. controls, process, packaging)Approximately 20-50% travel requirement depending on project demands
What will be your key responsibilities?
The development of control systems for automating manufacturing processes and packaging systemsDelivering projects to the business that provides a competitive advantage.Control Systems design, which includes developing control concepts & functional and equipment specificationsDirecting the modifications and installation of systems in the following areas: electrical and power distribution, control systems, Factory IT (servers, networks, Wi-Fi, etc.), Digital Plant Technology systemsEnsuring delivery of assigned objectives for scope, time, budget, and cash flowMaintaining the project adherence to scope, deliverables, and critical success factorsCommunicating with the project steering team to ensure project objectives are achievedSeeking and applying appropriate technologies to gain and a sustain technical competitive advantageDesigning systems and selecting hardware and/or directing third-party engineering and/or system Integrator firms Providing design services to meet their contract deliverablesActively participating in the development of engineering standards and toolsSupporting safety, security and environmental policiesMaximizing asset utilization through value added engineering and lean designEvaluating and estimating future project cost estimates and scopeDirectly managing all assigned project workUnderstanding and supporting the Five Principles, Vision to Win, and the Winning EnvironmentActively planning and participating in project activities
