As a part of the Diagnostics Atlantic Division, the Project Director provides guidance and assistance on a variety of types of projects and reviews and assesses various courses of action to provide an improved basis for management decisions. This is a multi-discipline title.
The Project Director is responsible for the direction, coordination, implementation and the control and completion of projects. They set deadlines, assign responsibilities and monitor and summarize the progress of a project. A successful candidate will work with teams composed of internal stakeholders and outside vendors as needed to ensure the coordination of the projects are within budget and scope. He or she will coordinate with departments to ensure all aspects of the project are aligned with the strategy, commitments and goals of the organization.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Provides project management guidance and assistance directly to VP level and above on a broad range of business issues of a complex nature.May support officers of the company and/or project managers by providing specialized technical expertise in appropriate project need areas.Will work with significant autonomy and require only casual supervisionEngage in leading Divisional M/A project activity.This position will also lead Divisional projects that their SVP is involved with.This position will also lead projects external from Labcorp with Health Systems and other large customers where the candidate will have to engage with C-suite executives in customer officesThis is a multi-discipline title and may have supervisory responsibility over other Project Administrators.Reviews and assesses various courses of action to provide an improved basis for management decisions.Advises and assists project team members in the application of project procedures, disciplines and recording and reporting standards.Coordinate internal resources and 3rd parties/vendors for successful execution of projectsAssist in definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibilityDefine tasks and required resourcesDevelop detailed project plans to monitor and track progressEnsure projects are delivered on-time, within scope and budgetCreate and maintain comprehensive project documentationTrack project performance, specifically to analyze successful completion of short and long term goalsMeasure project performance using appropriate tools and techniquesTravel as needed to support project teams
Requirements:
Knowledge of techniques and toolsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAttention to detail and multitasking skillsStrong Organizational skillsLicense/Certification/Education: Normally requires a Bachelor's Degree in appropriate academic areas w/10+ years of applicable work experience.
