Become Project Controls Manager (Scheduling) at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you will manage project controls activities, provide direct supervision of technical staff, and be responsible for Service Level Commitment in the area of project scheduling (e.g., templates, activities, logic, resources, analysis) for a portfolio of major or multi-year utility construction projects and/or programs including customer added facilities, interconnection facilities, infrastructure replacement and load growth projects/programs. This position will report to the Senior Manager of Project and Strategic Controls (Scheduling), lead a team of schedulers, and work closely with various stakeholders including but not limited to Project Management, Project Controls (Cost and Estimating), Project Engineering, Project Construction, Finance, Procurement, Contract Management, Law, and Regulatory.

A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright!
Lead a team of experienced schedulers who provide scheduling expertise to Major Projects, 3rd Party projects and Programs; includes conducting regular 1:1 discussions, coaching and mentoring to SCE tactical schedulers; syncing up with Contract Worker tactical schedulers on deliverables Manage and allocate resources that deliver scheduling expertise for SCE's Transmission & Distribution (T&D) Major Projects Organization (MPO) Provide direction and oversight for scheduling activities and analysis Maintain frequent contact with inter- and intra-department managers, supervisors, and senior management; conduct periodic meetings with T&D departments supporting and managing projects requiring scheduling expertise. Provide recommendations to project management teams based on scheduling expertise. Strategizes the implementation of streamlined business processes and procedures.
Qualifications
The essentials
Five years' experience in Project Controls or project-related field. Experience with scheduling applications/softwares (i.e. MS Project, P6, etc.)
The preferred
Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, project management, business, finance or a related discipline. Strong oral/written communication skills and be able to present technical information in simple, non-technical terms to all levels of management. Project Management Certification (PMP); Cost Engineering Certification (CCP, EVP); Planning & Scheduling Certification (PSP). Experience in a leadership role. Experience with electric utility construction or large capital projects and/or regulatory process. Experience Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project etc.), SAP, and SharePoint.
You should know
This position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.
