Reporting to the Manager of Project Analysis, the Project Analyst is a key contributor to the overall success of the corporate FP&A team, providing a high degree of proficiency in analyzing project accounting data, identifying and communicating financial risk, and working cross functionally with accounting and finance departments to resolve issues affecting the line of business P&L's, as well as the service line virtual P&L's. This role is focused on reconciling backlog and assessing project financials to mitigate risk and project the near-term and annual budget, delivering value-added business analysis and meaningful financial and operational metrics that inform insightful and accurate business decision-making.
Responsibilities:
Partner with FP&A leadership and business owners to produce the annual plan, quarterly and monthly forecast updates, internal reporting and performance management against projections for the line of business.Prepare detailed monthly and quarterly P&L variance analysis against budget and forecast and review results with accounting, FP&A, and business management.Coordinate preliminary order and service deferral resolution, and reconcile backlog, communicating and coordinating with finance and business partners to mitigate risks.Coordinate with various members of the FP&A team to review past and current financial informationPrepare weekly, the monthly financial forecast for the assigned business unit. Prepare projections, reports, and presentations based on analysis.Identify trends in operational and financial performance and provide recommendations for improvement to management.Coordinate with the Business Systems & Analytics team to automate in Tableau any models or reports that have been created and repeatedly used.Provide data integrity analysis to ensure quality of data and reporting by the Business Systems & Analytics team.Understand and interpret the various key performance indicators for Services.Provide and maintain financial & business models in Excel.Participate in the annual budget process.Host and lead routine review meetings with various levels of management within the Services organization.Perform other work-related duties as assigned. Bachelor's Degree in finance, business, or accounting2 years of related work experience Microsoft Office suite skills
