In A NutshellRandM is looking for a team-oriented Project Accountant to support expansion of our accounting team.
As a member of the RandM team, the Project Accountant will manage, organize and accurately record a high volume of accounting data across multiple interfaces. Specific tasks include:
Accounts receivable (prepare and record monthly client invoices).Project database maintenance and recordkeeping (maintain contract and project invoice files within the Deltek Vantagepoint database and permanent files, as required).Accounts payable support (vendor and subconsultant invoices, check and ACH payment processing).Cash receipts (receiving and recording client payments, preparing bank deposits and reconciliations).Expense report processing (review and process employee expense reports, review and reconcile monthly credit card expense reports, vehicle mileage records).RandM distinguishes itself by providing high quality work products (including our accounting work products) that meet the needs of our internal and external clients and facilitate their goals and business targets and are in line with our vision, mission and core values. The ideal applicant will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and be extremely detail oriented.
This is an on-site position based in RandMs Anchorage office.
The Project Accountant will be expected to actively participate and represent RandM in professional organizations and community activities.
The Project Accountant will report to the Controller.
On Any Given DayOn a typical day, the Project Accountant will:
Respond to internal and external emails and accounting-related correspondence.Review and process client invoices (A/R).Meet with and discuss project accounting needs with project managers.Review contract documents to complete and maintain project accounting database.Minimum QualificationsTo be considered for this position, applicants must:
Hold a Bachelors degree in Accounting.Have five years or more of experience in accounts receivable and billing.Preference will be given to applicants with the following:
Experience in accounts receivable and billing in the architecture/engineering industry.Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint or a similar database.Applicants should:
Be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and manage time effectively.Possess a strong aptitude for numbersBe detail-oriented.Be able to work independently.Be skilled in Microsoft Excel and Word, and Adobe Acrobat.All candidates should have good interpersonal abilities for working in a dynamic team environment, as well as strong written and verbal communication skills. Applicants must have a valid Alaska drivers license.
