Job Description
The Program Manager, Privacy and Data Protection will apply project management, analytical and communication skills to coordinate and execute key objectives for the Cyber, Data Protection, and Privacy function. In this role you will support the implementation and oversight of a comprehensive global privacy program for GE Aerospace in preparation to be a separated, publicly traded company. Within this role you will report to the Chief Privacy Officer for the Aerospace business.
Essential Responsibilities
Maintain a comprehensive global privacy program framework in alignment with applicable laws, regulations, and industry best practices.Conduct privacy impact assessments and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential privacy risks.Monitor and help implement changes in global privacy laws and regulations, helping to drive the organization's compliance.Prepare and present regular reports on the status of the global privacy program to executive leadership.Monitor compliance with relevant internal business and legal processes and policies, enforce existing rules and resolve information security and privacy questions. Partner closely with compliance and security teams to identify privacy risks and develop strategies to mitigate them. Provide guidance and training to employees on privacy policies, procedures, and best practices.Respond to privacy-related inquiries from customers, regulators, and other stakeholders. Work with cross-functional teams to ensure applicable privacy considerations are integrated appropriately into business processes and systems. Drive continuous improvement of the privacy program through regular assessments and audits.Proactively seek solutions, apply a problem-solving mindset, and share your ideas to develop & refine ambiguous processes.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college with at least 6 years of experience in Privacy and Data Protection, or a high school diploma/GED with at least 10 years of experience in Privacy and Data Protection.
Desired Characteristics
Experience in the privacy and data protection space, including privacy management platformsFamiliarity and experience with privacy regulations, inclusive of US, Europe and China specifically. Additional certifications or experience (Brazil, Asia) a plus. Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to interpret, analyze and synthesize data Experience in a fast paced, high-pressure environment Demonstrated ability to lead projects, execute and deliver outcomes Established project management skills Global experience - working across time zones and geographies Privacy certification such as CIPP, CIPM, or CIPT
