SPACE SUCCESS LEAD
The Space Success Lead (SSL) serves as the "Chief of Staff" for either a large client account team, practice area, or industry vertical (collectively referred to as "spaces"). In this role, you will be embedded as a critical member of the space you support. You will be a thought partner to the lead Principal(s), prioritize and drive key space initiatives, and create the structure and processes that enable the space to achieve its vision, strategy, and key milestones.
SSLs are key connectors that have broad visibility across the space and build collaborative relationships both within the space and across ZS to facilitate connectivity and efficiency. This involves providing strategic and operational support across 6 dimensions: 1) strategic and commissioned project leadership, 2) business development, pipeline, and portfolio management, 3) strategic planning and budgeting, 4) people development and engagement, 5) headcount and financial performance tracking, and 6) communication, marketing, meetings, and events planning and execution.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy and Commissioned Project Leadership
Manage commissioned investments in new offerings, capabilities or service lines, applying consultative expertise and an "outside in" focusEnsure best practices are shared across the space for related projects to drive efficiencyFor our client spaces, drive special client initiatives (e.g. organizational goals initiatives, ZS-client training offerings, ZS-client idea exchanges, etc.)Manage processes to create and share thought leadership materials
Business Development, Pipeline, and Portfolio Management
Define and implement best practices for tracking business development and capture future opportunities across space leadership teamManage account, client, business unit, therapy area, or solution prioritizationFacilitate client feedback process to identify and drive opportunities to increase client satisfaction
Strategic Planning and Budgeting
Drive space innovation and visioning exercisesDrive the annual space strategic account planning process, working with senior space leadership team members to understand priorities, goals, and focus areasHelp leadership identify areas of connection/synergy, opportunity, or issues through listening across the space
People Development and Engagement
Create and drive robust space onboarding programs to integrate new team membersHelp to organize space learning programs to advance relevant skills, effective coaching, and other learning-oriented initiatives in collaboration with the Learning & Development team and HR Business PartnersEnsure completion of all mandatory client trainings and processes for the teamSupport and facilitate internal transfer requests based on interest and expertiseOrganize repositories on the intranet, SharePoint, Teams, etc. and encourage knowledge sharing and best practices
Headcount and Financial Performance Tracking
Partner with HR and Finance on headcount and financial planning/modeling and trackingTrack and manage budget for commissioned investmentsSupport team staffing needs by working with space leadership and broader HR team to ensure appropriate resourcing/hiring plans are in place to support spaceTrack staffing requests for rotation/transition into and out of the space, partnering with HR Business Partner and Staffing Partner to ensure staffing needs are met while managing rotation/transition statuses
Communication, Marketing, Meetings, and Events Planning and Execution
Manage/collaborate on communication and marketing materials/events (internal and external)Plan and execute meetings for the space, leadership, and broader ZS communityOrganize team-building events to help grow and maintain the space culture and communityFacilitate collaboration between ZS global offices to best support space and ZS goals
QUALIFICATIONS
6-8+ years in professional services firm, consulting or strategy/operations experience preferredBS required, MBA or other advanced degree preferredBusiness-minded (strong commercial instincts) paired with strategic planning skillsLeadership experience and team building skills, including strong interpersonal skill, influence without authority, and people managementFamiliar with consulting environment - business model, organization, tools, systems, processes, and administration, and related tools, templates, processes and timelinesAble to quickly internalize and understand a large volume of information, prioritize, and make timely decisionsStrong business and financial acumenEffective communication skills, including executive level communication and large group presentationsHigh quality written communication for business plans, initiative justification, and policy documentationExperienced project manager in leading change management initiativesProven history of achieving results in challenging or ambiguous environmentsExperience creating or administering organization policy, measures, metricsStrong understanding of systems and processes - both overall purpose and landscape, as well as how to navigate and affect changeMastery of productivity and collaboration tools: MS Office - PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, TeamsCreative, driven, positive, trustworthy, willing to take on tasks at any level to ensure success
SPACE SUCCESS PROGRAM
The SSL roles sit in the SSP (Space Success Program) service line within the Program Management Expertise Center, which provides focused leadership for portfolio management, special projects, and/or governance. The SSP is a hub of experts enabling spaces to create, share, and learn best practices to drive strategic and operational excellence.
