Eaton's IS VEH EMB division is currently seeking a Program Manager.
What you'll do:
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
As an eMobility Program Manager you will lead integrated NPI Program(s) to assure successful planning and execution achieving profitable, on-time and reliable product launches with a continuous focus on improving financial performance through a collaborative and entrepreneurial approach that encompasses managing customers, contracts, and cross-functional relationships. You will manage multiple high visibility programs across multiple customers and will play a key role in the establishing and achieving best-in-class program management performance for this segment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Manages the project lifecycle from development through launch while achieving business case financials of the NPI Program(s)/ STP Program(s) and projects.
• Creates project schedules while keeping cross functional team focused on critical path and milestone attainment
Executes leadership across the Program. Seeks team input to promote rapid resolution to issues. Coaches and provides feedback/rewards on performance indicators.
• Manage cross-functional project teams to drive accountability and performance established for commercial, technical, and manufacturing readiness levels at start of production. Facilitates the implementation of program management processes at the site, business unit or Division. Identifies and works with functions to resolve resource constraints. Elevates concerns to leadership team to assist with resource constraint resolution.
• Manages effective customer communications. Improves organization responsiveness to customer requirements. Communicates and manages customer expectations and contractual commitments internal to the business.
• Ensures standard program management processes are utilized and adequate support to the program and project teams by coordinating PM reviews, preparing & publishing PM metrics and reports.
• Manages team performance based on Focus 5 + 1 expectations.
• Updates and manages ProPM timely and accurately
• Holds team members accountable to work break down structure and project expectations
• Coordinates all risks and requirements of the program into a complete integrated entity. This is accomplished by planning, controlling, integrating all projects into the programs, and measuring all elements to ensure the requirements and goals are successfully achieved with a primary focus on delivering scope, schedule, and financial commitments.
• Provides program updates (Program Status Report - Green/Yellow/Red) of current situation relating to contractual milestones and problem/high risk areas (e.g., technical, cost, and schedule). Provides updates to the business units as well as divisional, and group levels.
• Establish organizational resource plans that clearly articulate the requirements for core team member, work package approver, and decision gate committee member engagement for the project duration.
Promote, Support, and execute effective change management processes to ensure control through the Program.
• Engage in new business proposal development by partnering on product strategy and product roadmap initiatives.
Strengthen skillsets in cross-functional and operational knowledge areas outside of previous domain expertise (i.e., Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance).
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution (Business or Technical)
• Minimum 5 years' business experience in an engineering, supply chain, or manufacturing organization
Preferred: 3 years' of experience in program management
• Knowledge of electronics products and manufacturing processes
• Experience managing programs with:
1) Influencing and inspiring without having direct reporting structure
2) Required financial commitments (dedicated budgets, capital spend, etc)
3) Moderate to high customer business risk
4) High revenue growth program value
5) Projects that rank as Strangers (and potentially Aliens)
6) Projects that rank as Majors with high revenue value or key strategic implications to the business
• Work experience in Program Management or a combination of Engineering and Product Development
• Project Management Institute (PMI) accreditation (PMP)
• Fully demonstrating to proficient in Program and Project Management methodologies, processes and tools
• Demonstrated style that is consistent with Eaton expectations of leaders (ethical, passionate, accountable, efficient, transparent, learner). Capable of managing change in a cross-functional environment that requires cross-region, site, and/or global collaboration and span.
• Experience in Requirements and Risk Management.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Supply Chain Management
• Master of Business Administration
• Excellent communication and presentation skills - both verbal and written with ability to make necessary status reports and technical presentations to Eaton management and customer
• Ability to communicate in English
• Strong analytical skills and business acumen
• Experience in cross-cultural leadership
