  GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  Under the general direction of the Director of Climate Resilience, the Climate Resilience Program Coordinator works to support the agency climate change adaption and coastal resilience planning.

  DETAILED STATEMENT OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  Support development, maintenance, and integration of climate adaptation and coastal resilience decision-making tools, science and data developed by the State into agency plans and actions. Monitor and support the curation of DCR's own Climate Change Vulnerability Assessments, updates, and deliverables. Bring current research and industry practices on climate change adaptation and hazard mitigation into agency planning, including by not limited to, Coastal Resilience Planning, Resource Manage Plans, Forest Management Plans and Watershed Management Plans. Deliver guidance, training, and participate in meetings with staff to promote awareness regarding climate change and climate change impacts with a goal to mainstream best practices, approaches and solutions for coastal and inland climate adaptation and hazard mitigation, including but not limited to, salt marsh restoration, sustainable forest management, and sustainable buildings. Identify and implement ways to promote and grow the climate program, by attending meetings as relevant, providing the information needed for the Agency website and SharePoint, and develop regular content for sharing to internal and external audiences Support working groups across the agency to identify, plan, and internal procedures regarding Climate Resilience for example Green Docket, and other review processes. Under supervision by the Director of Climate Resilience, coordinate with municipal and non-profit partners on local initiatives to enhance DCR's resilience through land protection, resource management, and local projects that relate to DCR properties and jurisdiction. Collect and analyze data.Write and contribute to reports and coordinate information for publications.Research and support grant opportunities to further DCR's climate goals.

  PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  Professional experience and contemporary knowledge in engineering, project management, coastal zone management, stormwater, wetland, hydrology, public policy, social resilience, climate justice, and/or environmental justice. Direct experience in developing and implementing approaches and policies related to above issues and experienced in coordinating with numerous organizations and groups in order to achieve strong and productive working relationships, collaboration, and integration. Working knowledge of climate change data, models, and projections, particularly related to sea level rise and precipitation. Competency in working with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Office 365 programs such as Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.Able to understand complex climate change models as well as communicate such information in easy-to-understand terms to staff and public. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team on a variety of projects.

   MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS:

  Applicants must have at least (A) three years of full time, or equivalent part-time, professional, administrative or managerial experience in business administration, business management or public administration the major duties of which involved program management, program administration, program coordination, program planning and/or program analysis, or (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below.

  Substitutions:

  I. A Bachelor's degree with a major in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for a maximum of two years of the-required experience.

  II. A Graduate degree with a major in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for the required experience.

  III. A Bachelor's or higher degree with a major other than in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for a maximum of one year of the required experience.

  Education toward such a degree will be prorated on the basis of the proportion of the requirements actually completed.
