What You Will Do
If you are looking for a position where you will have an impact on national security, this opportunity with LANL's Defense Protection Program may be for you. We are looking for a motivated and focused individual to provide professional staff support to a team of approximately 60 security professionals matrixed across the laboratory. This position reports to the Deployed Security Group Leader.
You will be instrumental in helping foster the laboratory's safeguards and security culture, protecting people, property, material, and information. The successful candidate will be flexible, innovative, and task-organized with strong interpersonal skills. They must be a self-starter and problem-solver, able to anticipate challenges and address requirements with attention to detail, professionalism, tact, and discretion.
What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
Administrative Support: Experience in conducting office administrative management. Demonstrated ability to take initiative and ownership of coordinating activities in keeping with organizational values and customer needs.
Customer Service: Skill in problem-solving and ensuring assistance at multiple levels and in complex issues and situations. Clearly render aid while representing the organization in a positive manner.
Organization: Ability to prioritize tasks, track and monitor deadlines, and follow changing requirements through to completion. Facilitate various schedules, maintain calendars, and organize meetings.
Teamwork: Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team and across groups of external colleagues, stakeholders, and leaders. Responsiveness and reliability in supporting mission needs.
Communication: Skilled in originating or editing written products, and good oral communicator. Willingness to address conflict effectively, and unquestionable professionalism in all interactions and relationships.
Business Systems: Expertise in software applications, to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Outlook, Teams, and Adobe. Ability to learn multiple platforms for HR, travel, finance, web conferencing, etc.
Information Management: Experience in collecting data for, and preparing reports, presentations, or other work packages for higher level or external consumption. This includes material specific to the work area function.
Education and Experience : Position requires a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and two years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.
Desired Qualifications :
Human Resources: Experience interfacing with HR processes such as time and labor, performance management, certification programs, recognition, and training documentation.
Financial Management: Familiarity or expertise with on-line bookkeeping, resource advising, cost center management (purchasing and invoicing), procurement, and property accountability.
Organizational Support: Ability to perform on-line SharePoint database management, and ability to perform basic web hosting functions (limited design) such as web site posting and media relations.

Location
The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.
Position Commitment
Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. If an employee has not served the time required, they may only apply for Laboratory jobs with the documented approval of their Division Leader. The position commitment for this position is 1 year.

Directive 206.2 - Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2 (https://directives.nnsa.doe.gov/supplemental-directive/sd-0206-0002) . Clearance: Q ( Position will be cleared to this level). Selected applicants will be subject to a background investigation conducted by or on behalf of the Federal Government, and must meet eligibility requirements* for access to classified matter. This position requires a Q clearance. and obtaining such clearance requires US Citizenship except in extremely rare circumstances. Dependent upon the position, additional authorization to access classified information may be required, which may or may not be available to dual citizens. Receipt of a Q clearance and additional access authorization ultimately is a decision of the Federal Government and not of Triad.
*Eligibility requirements: To obtain a clearance, an individual must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in very limited circumstances. New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. Although New Mexico and other states have legalized the use of marijuana, use and possession of marijuana remain illegal under federal law. A positive drug test for marijuana will result in termination of employment, even if the use was pre-offer.
